When: May 7th & 8th
Where: ElKy Compound
56 Weed St.
Lowell, MA 01852
What: Everything
Who: Everyone
Why: err..thats a dumb question! *smacks a plate down on its arse*
rules:
#1 Have Fun
#2 Refer to Rule #1
#3 Repeat
this is where you let me know if you are coming and if you are bringing guests.
also, if you want to bring munchies, go ahead but please list them here so we dont end up with 8 bowls of potato salad.
i will be supplying burgers and dogs and sausages.
i have also been stocking up on soda.
there won't be any steak tips this year due to financial difficulties, but if anyone wants to bring some or anything else to cook on the grill that is fine.
since the meet is a two day event, feel free to stay over saturday night. we have tons of room now that Kevin is gone.
hahaha
if you need better directions, let me know and i will post them.
if you need to contact me and want to call instead of email or Pm: 978 - 852 - 6960
if i have forgotten anything, let me know
as you were...
I'll be glad to make my presence known at Weed Streed
anywho, I'll be there. prolly not doin any major mods to the car except for maybe fuel filter. I will have your UPS's and I hope you'll have the mesh for me, hopefully u can help me put it on since I have no idea how to. Anyways, I'll be there early afternoon like 1-ish
I will be there with Jess and I think that we will be coming up friday night to avoid a real early morning and early drive.
Elky I am sure me and some others could send some bills your way so that you can pick up some steak tips if not i will chip some in to help pay for the food anyway.
as for what I am bringing, I'll get some chips and cookies, and some soda or ice tea
hopefully the weather gives in
I will be there with my MSDS headers. I don't really have food to bring, but I can buy some on the way. I am willing to donate to the steak tip fund. I can buy some food or beer, let me know what you want. I will def. have to get some beer for shaggy.....Killians right?
Dang.
I am free ... all that week ... except the 7th and the 8th.
(working 2 days a week right now, and you can guess what two days those are ...)
If luck strikes me and I get that office job I interviewed for, then I can quit Wal-Mart for the summer and have my weekends back for the first time since last year ... till then have fun at the spring meet guys!
Mike and I will bring some spicy cajun chicken to cook on the grill
So, Kevin's finally out. No more 3 hour drum solos? That's such a shame.
NOT.
Karen and I should be there on Saturday. I'll let you know what we are bringing for food when I know! Probably just some snacky stuff.
I'll be there Saturday.
I've got an aggressive maintainenence/mod plan for this event.
Front brakes/rotors
DMD (if time permits)
Install K&N with MAF Adapter
Knauberize
Rewire radar detector hardwire
Install Sunroof Express Open/Lighted Switch
Make Heat Shield
clean interior
Also, I know Elky lost some serious cash last year with all the food he bought. May I suggest a minimum $20/pp donation this year? I think that might get us them steak tips back!
I'll bring some beer for all.
I was planning on coming on Saturday for a little while. After my son's soccer game (I'm the coach), so arriving about noonish.
I can chip in for food, I'll grab some munchies.
I was hoping to have some help on an MTX fluid change, and a fuel filter change. Also, some pointers (just really need an orientation on some things listed in the "How-to" are) for a coolant change. I ordered my Redline MTL already.

No problem.
I'll be sure to bring the Fluid pump for the MTX change. Anyone is welcome to use it.

I would do mine, but my engine is gonna be taken out anyways so its really no use i guess
So who is up for tuning up a Mustang 5.0?
The one we bought just don't feel like it's putting down all its potential power. My 88 LX felt 10 times faster.
I checked the air filter and it's brand new. It's already got a new water pump, radiator, and thermostat. But still don't feel right.

birng her over
I'll be there and I might bring Oakley provided you or your dog don't eat him.
what time on the 7th?
I think the time was mentioned in the other thread.
generally after 11-noon is safest.
7 am is bad
something along those lines
hahaha
no earlier than 10am please.
i need time to do final stuff before everyone shows up.
as for steak tips...if everyone wants them i can see about hitting up BJs and getting some and marinating them.
all my sources for good meat have gone south.
unless..karen and steve would like to get some from the place they got them last year, those were good.
karen and steve..expect a phonecall ffrom me.
heheh
I'll be there on Sat. for awhile but I will have to head back up too Manch. in the evening to pick someone up at the airport( so that means a 6'r instead of a 20 pack for me)...
And Burgers, dogs and Tips all sound great to me' I'll be mor'n happy to kick-back some $$$$ for food..
I don't know if I'll be doin' any work yet as my to-do list for the summer is pretty extensive, so I don't really know where to start right yet.... but it includes the following..... Full tune-up, UIM/LIM/TB cleaning, WP & DMD install, and flush and replace all fluids... man I wish I had a garage
Oh yeah, just remember Dat I gots me some Elky mesh waitin to be install so that is a deff. to do for the meet..
just got off the phone with karen.
they will be bringing the tips.
woohoo
Goonz.....get my Mobil 1 badge!
Keith, Mike and I can always give you a hand with any project during the summer at our place. It's no palace, but there's decent space here to get things done.
Keep that in mind if there's something you'd like to do.
I might want to do a intake cleanig over the weekend also, I have the new gaskets coming and they should be here by the 3rd

I'll try to remind you during the meet to get them.
3 badges remain.

Thanks guys.. thats awesome I'll deff. take that into consideration. I'll let you know as soon as I start to get ambitious..
Yeah, most weekends with good weather and little or no plans are usually spend in the garage or driveway. This weekend calls for a complete spa treatment for the truck. Engine clean, wash and claybar all that sheet metal, and NXT. That should take a good part of Sunday!
well I gotta work at 5 so I'll be there around 12..my boss was being gay about this

call in sick?
come back after you work then if that works
I'll be there but will have to leave like around 4
I want to try and make it but I might be working saturday and I probably won't know if I am or not until last minute
I might end up coming up myself for the meet, Jess has a very close family friend that is really sick and they say she doesn't have long and now she has to work sunday even though she asked for the weekend of but I think there is more to it then that ... but we are going to try to work it out so she can still come too

Thats why I love it
Turns out, I might not be able to make it, afterall.
We're trying to finish off a data migration from our old support database to our new, and we can't do it during business hours due to our traffic.
So, I'm stuck in the office while you guys have fun at the Elky Compound v. 2.
I'll try to make it up later in the day, but, I'm not sure how long it'll take to get the work done.
well I talk to Jess a bit earlier and she was able to find someone to cover her at work so both of us will be there now
Is the main BBQ later in the day?
Its looking iffy for me, I have some side jobs lined up and I've been putting them off becasue of rain and my customers are getting antsy. So if the weather is good this weekend I won't be able to make it.
weathers looking to be good. elky is this your old place or i recall you moved, right?
i moved.
i now have a garage that is bigger than my old house.
hehheeh
oh yeah...i have been playing inthe garage lately...there have been some changes.
well I guess my car is gonna be pretty darn busy that day, I plan on commin at like 12..hugo is gonna be puttin on his cd player for sale in his sig in my car while hopefully mike still has my elky mesh for me
oh yea and a fuel filter
Our work that day is having what we call "nurses weekend" Thats when all the nurses scrubs go on sale and we have all the nurses come in and hopefully buy a lot of cloths
My boss really wants me to work that day and I guess I told him I'll try my best to make at 5

Something happened last night, and I'm not sure if I will make it. Plus I just found out my order for Redline MTL was delayed and may not arrive in time.
I had a front bearing changed on Friday. Yesterday as I was driving there was some noise and vibration, and my wheel FELL OFF ! Actually sheared through 3 of the studs ! Same wheel that was just worked on! I called the shop and had him bring his tow-truck right out and get it. He is going to make it right, but has already asked where I got my wheels and if they are still available !
I had my 3 year old in the car with me, and was about 3 minutes from jumping on the highway, so I was lucky/ blessed (depending on your beliefs) to be going 2 mph in a McDonald's parking lot, not 65 on the highway !
If I have the car back, I'll be there. If not, I can't strand my wife for the day and steal her van (even though I might want to). Hope to see everyone on Saturday !
Wow! Glad to hear you're all right, and the shop is going to make good on things. That's a relief.
Hey, no need to strand the wife. Bring her along!

Maybe! Are you sure that would be OK? That also means a 1 year old girl that gets into EVERYTHING and a very curious and talkative 4 year old boy, though...

I'm just messin around..however I hafta work at 5 so yea..I'll need it before then
Just a little warning, Elky has a very big dog (rotwieller sp). The dog is very nice, but it still kinda scares me. I dont know about you, but I tend to keep little children away from animals large enough to eat them. Don't get me wrong I doubt the dog would eat your kids, it would rather have a steak or something.

Yeah it will be my first so im pretty excited
should be fun, your guys want my mom to make some sandwiches?? or some pakistani BBQ chicken?? It usually takes 2 days for us to marinate our chicken and I can assure you, its gonna be hott!! but its delicious!
mean, sounds like a case of loose lug nuts. i hate mechanics that dont take the time to check their work.
without clicking the back button....if you have aftermarket wheels, it could be that they needed to be re-torqued.
the dog and children...never been a problem. jess has a 3 year old nephew and he and dino get along great. just dont run away from him, he thinks you are playing and may jump on you.
mesh installs. brian, if i have time friday night i hight do your grill then. the others, we will see.
the party ending...if you have to work until 5 pm, come by after work.
this year i think the people from rain might still come buy even if everybody is passed out or gone.
haroon...bring what you want. the sammiches sound good.
i just got in from the garage...hehehe
breaking stuff is fun....

. I forgot about a family event that my wife reminded me of
she gave me one of those
not this time looks, oops. Hope ya's have great weather. I'll hopefully catch up with everyone soon.
Plan on coming Saturday for the event. The wife will also be stopping by as well.
Where is everyone going to park?
the neighbors are just going to have to learn to drive around the block to get to their houses
elky's portion of weed street = ours

Yes, definitely. When I heard all the racket I guess I should have checked them. But, they were the last thing I thought of, BECAUSE the wheel had just been worked on.
I do have aftermarket wheels, and the lugs are not visible. I think he fingertightened them and forgot about them.
I'm just happy that we were in a parking lot and not on the highway.
He has everything all fixed up today. He had someone refurbish (if that's the word) the wheel.

Elky you going to have a supply of Berrimans (sp?) for us that want to clean our UIM's and LIM's that we can pay you for or should we bring our own? I ask because I haven't seen it around here or know where to find it
the CAP auto parts up the street carries it.
i dont have anymore.
actually, i think Randy is bringing some to replace what was used last time.

if there is time to do it is it ok that I just pay you for what I use then?
fyi - I am going to bring the 95 electrical wiring manual, some wire (for sun roof switched), a long DMD bolt and washers, brake piston to install crank seals with and radio removal tools
I can bring a crank puller and sealant if needed, but also the sealant I have is alittle old so I don't know how good it is
When we moved to the house, I found a brand new set of Bosch Plug wires I had bought for the SVT. I bought them about a year and a half ago and they have never been out of the box.
First $5 gets them. I'll bring them along, if anyone is interested.

yup, just so we don't have to get up real early tomorrow and drive up, pretty much what I normally do
I'm done with my 40 hours this week at 3, so I could do over time, but I am going to head home and get my things together then head up after dinner and the evening traffic
I am over at Mike's right now but no-one is home. I figured I would be the first one to arrive.

I have seen Berryman's at my local Auto Zone. Are people going to be doing UIM and LIM cleanings? I would love someone to walk me through this...
I'll bring a bottle in case...
Thanks all. I look forward to meeting everyone. I should roll in around noon, maybe earlier if the rain cancels my soccer game. I'm planning on bringing some munchies, chips etc. and some soda for the non-drinkers (like me).

If you want to clean the UIM and LIM, be sure to buy the proper gaskets. You'll want to replace them if you're doing this. Check out the FAQ for more information.
If you are just looking to clean it via vaccum line (aka Big Jim's method), then you won't need anything.
I may have to leave earlier than expeected not quite sure at the moment but I will be there for a lil while at least, to enjoy the festivities and food.. and also get my mesh from elky....
Oh yeah I may or may not be w/ my gf so thats a maybe 1 more person but I don't think we'll be there long enough to make a diff.
See ya'll tomorrow
Elky do you have GT4 for PS2? Bracket racing anyone?
i have been doing the no rain dance all week and its not working!
been out in the garaeg tonight with any doing last minute stuff.
no GT4 here..if someone wants to bring it, thats fine.
this rain is gonna blow the whole day. temp's not gonna be warm either.

Take some pics (and post them) next time you stick something outrageous in the Saab! Maybe you can start a photo collection of things it's hauled over the years

not a bad idea!
I haven't seen any photos from the meet. I thought I saw a few being taken. I realize the weather was less than cooperative.

I did bring my camera, but it was too much work to swim back through the mud to get it
We have a couple of pics. None of any of the cars though, just inside pics. I'll have to post them..
