Who's down for coming down to my pad for Pete's Bassani install? We could do a cook-out or something.
--Matt
i'm in!
matt-
in addition to bassani, don't forget y-pipe, stb, and sway bar. i'll be under there with you - i'm eager to learn how it's done!
don't worry - 12 pack of sam adams boston lager will have your name on it.

You better have some for me too :p I will be there. Hopefully with something to do as well.
Cool... Bring your swim suit, we can go swimming in my pool.

I'm coming as long as I don't have to work. If I get my Borla in time can I bring that along?
I need to learn me some mechanic skills!
Any food or drink I can bring along?
--edit--
I can definately make it, I was thinking the 29th was a Saturday.

Any food or drink I can bring along?Sure, bring your borla.
Well...we'll have the most important beverage, beer. I will probably be BBQ-ing ribs and chicken. You can bring whatever you want.
--Matt
I will be under there or helping someone else out
Just kidding about the beer. Wanted to razz you a little about it. Maybe doing the Borla install or the Sway Bar. Matt: You really want a bunch of dirty (you, me, pete, and jess) guys jumping into your (hopefully
) clean pool ??
Sure it will be a blast no matter what though.
Yeah, it's cool. I'll just make sure that I put enough chlorine in to remove the first layer of skin.
Ummm ... Note to self "DON'T get into Matt's pool. He is trying to blind us all (prolly to have the glory of having the only cool Contour)."

I'll be there too! Need directions though, never heard of Millersville... Dont know if I'll have the Bassani
but I'll have my sway bar and STB to install. See you guys.
I ummm drink the "good" stuff Bass, and Gunniess. For some odd reason I have been drinking Corona (even though I had always hated it). Guess times change. I will be bringing Bass for everyone to enjoy.
Matt: With all this beer being drank, you got room on your floor for me
.
I think I may be able to come down. I'll ask Wendy (g/f) as well.
hey matt, how old are you and your kids? just curious.
i'm keeping my fingers crossed for nice weather.
anybody gonna feel up to tossing around a vortex or frisbee?

How long does it take to install a set of headers??
Antonio: Which set are you getting?? I was thinking about getting them or saving money for the 3.0L install.
Matt: We are going to do it the 29th right? Just thought while we had (so far) Two sway bars, two STB's, headers, etc. we would throw that into the mix too
I wish I could have the block by then at least.
i might be there, with a little mod to do...
i will know better within the next week
i need to get back in the car mood, this "starting your own business crap" is draining my pocket(which takes the money away from the car)
by the way all ceg members will get atleast 20% off, barders accepted
jessica might come with me... and for the kids, not for 3 more years

95MID: Root.

hey! don't worry baout beer - josh and i will bring plenty for all!
as long as you guys bring munchies and are crawling aroud under all those cars with us!
I thought it funny that this subject has gotten more responce than most anything else. Prolly cause the words Beer and Mod so up so many times
I am in Exchange class all this coming week (no more IM during the day
) Don't know what I am going to do with myself. At least I will be able to check up on the boards
I am all about getting trashed and working on cars (not my own mind you  ). Just thought that was funny.
Well guys, no need to do my sway bar, I did it on Saturday! Man what a pain-in-the-ass with a little jack. If I had a lift or a big jack it would have been slightly easier but still hard lying on your back. I couldnt find any PBblaster but got some Liquid Wrench penetrant, works well. So all I have to do is the STB, exhause (hopefully) and now that the other gentleman mentioned it, I have some plugs that have been sitting in the back of my car for about 6 months to change, hope I can get help with that. Still need directions though! Thanks guys, have a good week.
I'm coming back froma wedding that day, I might make it in time to come over for part of the day.

hey kj, i got the same directions as you. maybe you and josh can meet me on 355 (right off of 495) and the three of us can caravan over together?
I personally wouldn't go that way. It's alot longer. That way takes you all the way into Baltimore.
--Matt
Pete: Tell me a time (check with Josh to if he wants to caravan). Anytime is fine with me. Would rather leave kinda early (9.30 or so).
Matt: Is that time good with you. I will stick with your posted directions.
Thanks for the directions.
Now if if anything is "missing" between now and then you can't blame me

Thanks for the directions. Now if if anything is "missing" between now and then you can't blame me Sometime after 9am is fine with me. Although, I will probably end up doing dogs and burgers. I realized if I'm going to be crawling under cars and stuff, burgers and dogs will be easier for me.

Damn, Matt and all this sucks!
First off all I just realized that I live like 10-15 min from Matt ( I was just at the Target on Crain Highway yesterday).
Second of all I can't make it on the 29th 'cause I'll be in OC that weekend.
Oh well, Matt we need to meet up some time,(check out the Pepboys post) so you can see my f*ucked up dash
Pete, KJ - Meeting up somewhere sounds good, we better follow Matts directions though, sounds like he knows where he is going (since it is his house...). That would be sweet to caravan up there. I have one rule for the group though - NO making fun of my exhaust tips, that were put on the car BEFORE I got it! (please) Thanks.

sounds like a plan. maybe the subaru dealership on 355 near white flint? sunday am traffic is pretty light on the pike.
don't worry josh, not a word about those tips!
I can probably make it late. I have to work until 4:30 or so but can be there shortly after that. Where the hell is Millersville?

Pete: Know exactly where that is so I will meet you there at 9am.
Wasn't there some sort of talk about them on the 4th ??
Just kidding, I will prolly say something about them but all in good fun. I never mean to offend anyone. Just playing around :p
Yeah, sounds cool KJ - we will talk about it when it comes closer to the 29th, or else I'll forget... amnesia. Its cool, I dont care about the tips, as long as people remember that I did NOT put them on there. LOL Matt - should I bring the "Dukes of Hazzard" reruns to set the mood for the environment?
i need some directions from southern maryland
hey antonio do you want to caravan there, i can meet you at walmart
No Problem. Yes I need directions also.
or at least an address, so we can punch directions up online.

Matt,
My buddy grew up right off New Cut Rd. in Severna Park. You are out in no where. Its quite out there though. I can probably make it rom my house in 40 minutes coming down 32 from Laurel.
Did you ever hear about a local who ran under the back of a Best Buy Semi late at night that didn't have its light on, was parked in the middle of the road, and didn't have the protective bar across the back, aka bumber. He moved the rear axel 6 inches wihtout moving the rest of the truck. He has a nice little law suit going against Best Buy. He also took out about 5 trees one night while driving a porche with a roll cage. He came over some train tracks tapped his brakes, spun the car and took out a bunch of trees. He only had a couple of scrapes thanks to the roll cage.
-Andy
I'll be there.. You guys down for doing another MSDS headers installation while you're at it, or are we going to run out of time?

Antonio

Andy
Sujeet
Maybes:
BigWalton
Andy Watson
David
Reg
Did I miss anyone?
Oh yeah, just incase some folks didn't actually read this entire thread, I have a pool so if you want to swim, bring your swim suite and a towel. If you want to get online, bring your laptop, I have a few extra wireless cards. I have a couple of laptops, so if you want to get online but don't feel like bringing your laptop mine will be available.
There is a park near by so we if want to get a group pic of all of our cars, we can do that. I don't think we can get all 14 cars in my driveways. Luckily there is an empty lot like across the street.
--Matt
I'll be there for at least part of the day. As I mentioned, I have a wedding I'll be coming home from, but the wife also has a work get together that we'll have to make it back for, so we'll be well motivated to get back here early.
Can't guarantee the time, but I'll definitely be there to help for some of the day.
matt, good point about the jackstands. we have a lot of mods.
my girlfriend is coming! anyone else bringing gf? kj? josh?
looks like it's going to be a good turnout. looking forward to meeting some more ceg'ers.

Don't think she is going to make it. We are not really b/f-g/f. Kinda testing waters again to see if we want to get back together. Seems to be a cycle (every 6 months or so). Oh well, either find someone else or not.
If she dosent have to work she will be coming with me, Ive already told her about the meet (about 5 times!). I have a little jack but no jackstands, I'll bring it in hope that it will do some good, plus I have a couple tools... LOL.

cool. i don't know how angela would like being around 10 greasy, drunk guys working on cars!
i'm not even going to bother bring my "tools".
Hey, while we're on requests, bring some single girls along, preferably blond and between 22-28 years old.. Thanks
So you guys will install my headers?
Either on your car or mine. Would look much better on mine though :p
i am also going to bring a jack and stands
I gots me some ramps I cans brings too.
I know the me and Jess want to do our sidemarkers, so someone with a dremel, could you please bring it, and any knowlage you have on the install. Thanks in advance.
Well, let me see how the work schedule is. I probably will not know till a few days before the meet but ill let you know. Nothing is getting installed on my car so its no biggie.
Well, I may be able to come down as well, with the g/f of course. Sujeet, I though you had a g/f as well?!
Oh, if I do come down, I'll know by this weekend, I have spare nuts and bolts that attach the headers to the head. I also have jackstands, that I borrowed. Plus, you all can drool over my Roush headers!
Oh yeah, I'll help install as well. I am going to installing headers on a Cougar this weekend as well, so I should be well versed by the time I come down.
Ok, so who would be able to do an exhaust/rear sway bar install on this day???
Lets just say I may become a very happy guy if you can!
someone should start a list, me tired
I have a pair of jackstands I'll bring as well.
If someone has a dremel tool and can tell me which one, I'll go buy a bunch of bits, since I've heard you'll go through several doing the sidemarkers.

If Matt's Cordless Dremel's Fail I have one with a cord. Just got it the other day so I am slacking a little in the attachment field. I am getting the rear-sway, side markers and plugs today. I will be able to help/install on the 29th. Sounds like we will have lots of work going on. Matt: is there enough room to do all the installs???

Antonio - Headers
Plugs and Wires - Andy
Headers - Sujeet

Matt - Sway Bar
I think this is it... If not speak up.
If I am going to get the exhaust/swaybar, I will most likely be down. I will request off on that sunday.
You should really place an order in which to do the mods? It seems the headers will be the most difficult. I say do the least difficult first then work on the hard mods.
How difficult do you think an exhaust will be?

Umm, that's all well and good, but if we don't get finished before it gets dark, we're going to have a problem.. If you look at it that way, we should do the headers *1st* to avoid it. Plus, if you do it later and have problems, you run the risk of getting stuck (and I'm 2.5 hours away from home).
SHO Shop hasn't returned my calls as to the headers status, so you might be the only one doing them, but I remain hopeful. If not, maybe someone can bring some Zaino and do my car, to make me a believer
** Chris A: I do have a g/f, I made that comment just in case she doesn't come..
Sujeet, I thought about suggesting the header install first, but I did not want to sound selfish.

What??? You mean we couldn't get enough candle power out of all of the pairs of headlights that will be there?

I just talked to Vladim like an hour ago. I'd give them a call.
I have some Zaino stuff... But the price of using it is you have to Zaino my car too...
We should have enough people there to do everything. For those less technically inclined, they can be our runners. You know, when we need another beer, go out to Home Depot cause we need a tool or something, etc.

hmmmm.... as easy as it's supposed to be, I think I might take you up on that
you only want one coat, right?
woohooo, I will have a 2 hour drive of nothing but pure zetec exhaust note AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH and with the sway bar, ill be able to hang with Sujeet on the way back just that much more

Matt, how far from Bowie are you
I love having runners.
It shouldn't take but an hour to do the exhaust and header install. As for the candle power, I once replaced (took out, repaired, put in) a 73 Beetle engine at night in 3 inches of snow. The dark doesn't bother me much

Headers should be done first!
Argh, I just talked to Rob at the SHO Shop, they have no MSDS headers in stock, and frankly don't have a clue as to when they'll be able to get them.. Sucks, because they were selling them for $50 less than everyone else.
Ok, so where else might I be able to get these headers in the next 18 days? Help!
Well, I will be a runner as well. I mean if my car is under the knife, I guess I will be forced to drive someone's SVT...damn
. Also, is there anything I should buy for you guys to aide in the exhaust install?
For the guys who want headers done, did you remember to pick up a new set of exhaust manifold gaskets? If not let me know, I can get them pretty cheap.

First, I don't even know if i could make it if you all do not mind if i come
Second, Do you guys mind if a cougar guy shows up?
kevin
Pete, Matt - I should have my exhaust by then so you can count on mine... Has anybody done the euro antenna thing before? I have one that needs to be installed but dont know if it could get done that day, especially if its up on jackstands and all... I can do a lot of work, but Im sure I'll have to do some running as well. Im happy to do whatever helps.
So... Josh = Bassani, Plugs, and STB.

David L, if you want an SVT exhaust, you can have mine, it will be coming off and replaced with a Borla
, not sure how it would sound on a Zetec, but its your if you want it. At least that way I won't have to cut it up and lug it home.
Pete already offered me his as well as his SVT rear sway bar. Thanks though. Maybe someone else will come down and want the other exhaust. You got any rims?
put me down for a horn install, if joe can get it for me by then
and i will be bringing spice cake, like carrot but no carrots
Eric you got SVT exhaust?

Private message or email me if you want it.
I will be doing all the install of my stuff on Sunday 7-15. Just thought I would get it out of the way (I will be installing on the 29th for anyone who wants it). I got some of the parts yesterday and can't believe I have waited this long to put them on.
Cougars ??? We are letting Cougars in WTF ??? Those things are slow and only driven by little old ladies :p ha ha ha. I kill me (prolly the 29th by Kevin). Nice name BTW. I am another Kevin but everyone calls me KJ
Kevin: Welcome to the boards!

hey josh, have you talked to joe at sp? i think i may give him a call next week to see what's up with all my stuff.
looks like we're looking at 10-12 ceg'ers (not including gfs). don't know how many will be drinking though. how much beer would be required? 4-5 30 packs suffice? just thinking ahead..
We should start a seperate, who's going to bring what kinda food and/or beer list.......and this thread is getting long.

A few cases I would think. Maybe a bottle of Absolute.

The parts that are needed:
1. Postive batt clamp/post
2. Red wires
3.??? I dont know what else.

Not sure. Never done it before. Why do you need it replaced?
Because the positive cable has melted. I took it to the dealership, but could not work on becuase the car was to low.

That happened in my car too. Did you take it to another dealership?

Yeah I am going to try Chris Rush's dealership. Are you going meet up with on SAT?

Cool...when you get to Bob Bell, ask for Rick and tell him that I sent you.
I can't go on Saturday.

Anyone that wants to get rid of their SVT exhaust just let me know. I'd love to try the resonatorless and high flo muffler versions but I want the stock exhaust to put back if I need to (I'm anal like that).
I'll take it off your hands and take care of all of the cutting up and what not... for FREE!!!
Well I have received three offers of exhausts. I think I am going to take Pete's because his is stock. I think that a resonatorless SVT exhaust will be too raspy for my car and cause even more back pressure to lower performance. If only I had the JBA headers...

Believe me, I will try to make it...even if I can only stay up for a few hours.
I've got so much "other stuff" going on, it's hard for me to make a commitment.
Plus, I'll be keeping my fingers crossed as I will be on "on-call" status with my job.
If I show up, I'll bring my B&D "Wizard" (and extended-life batteries)for those who need it for the side marker installation.
Been awhile since I posted to the "ever-growing" thread so thought I would just let everyone know that I was still here
Can't believe this thing has gotten so long without AndySVT putting a stop to it. He is the moderator around these parts :p I should be doing the sway bar and plug install this weekend Sunday. If anyone (ie: a couple of people) want to stop by my place my door is open. Send me a private message.
ya know.. i think I might just show up to see the crowd..

Eric, you can have mine. I got the Borla today and it will be going on on the 29th, so you can just take it home with ya.
Oh Oh, Eric I can install the radio for you. Just get the wiring harness and I can do it while my car gets an exhaust and sway bar
Eric,
If you need a wiring harness I have one. Five bucks and its your.
I have keys too just remind me to bring them. We used my keys to pull out your radio at Bobby's
-Andy
