Capitol CEG has slowed to a crawl.

What's everyone been up to?

Myself:
- Working 2 jobs 6-7 days a week
- Dealing with stomach issues
- Trying to get out of debt
- Loss of serious interest in CEG due to the post whores and noobs
Posted By: RTStabler51_dup1 Re: Cap CEG slowness - 05/06/05 04:53 PM
Just seems a lack of interest in general with the slowness.

Personally, I've been trying to recategorize my priorities, and the 'older' I get, the CSVT seems like money being pissed down the drain, but I'm into far now to stop with it.

Otherwise its SOS DD. Just waiting for our little meets to perk up. I don't like the 'big' local things like chili cook off and what not since I'm anti-social and I hate everyone :-)

Well, I still don't have a computer of my own, I've been out of the country a lot since Janurary, lack of interest because the SVT is in SC but I'm going home tonight to get her and I dunno, whatever else keeps me away for the time being.

I'm up to my neck with work at work and at home. Just got my temp tags on the TTA Thursday...goes in for inspection next Tuesday. New temp tags are good for 30 days now and have no restrictions...Yahoo! Drove it to work today...so far so good...keeping my fingers crossed.

Contour...like some others have said, I'm in to deep to bail out now. I have so much stuff to install it's ridiculous, but I'll get it done sooner or later.

Need to sell the S-10 and fix up the garage to put the TTA under roof REAL soon.

Softball is in full swing now so Friday nights will be tough when I have late games (8:00/9:00). I will be in OC Memorial Day weekend for a Softball Tournament...heading down Friday 5/27.

Thinking about going to OC the week before the softball tournament with the TTA May 20th-22nd for 2005 Crusin' OC Car Show http://www.specialeventpro.com/crusin.html
Registration is limited to the 1st 3,000 with an additional 3,000-4,000 unregistered cars. You have to look for a plain domestic car on the streets during the 4 days of the show...it is absolutely insane!

Just purchased a "Sleep Number" bed...trying to find "My Sleep Number" Sure beats the 18 year old mattress I had by a long shot.

i am graduating from catholic next saturday and since the SVT has had so many problems the last year i spend all my time in the troubleshooting and search areas. also, working 3 jobs and chillin with my son doesn't leave a lot of time to be online...

Normal work.
Final Exams for spring classes/mid-spring classes kicking into full gear.
AutoX once or twice a weekend.
Nothing to respond to and I don't start that many threads.
Cleaning out Contour parts I somehow bought and never got around to installing or pulled off the car before getting rid of it.

As for my car....started to think about buying something else, but realized that i started a project, and it needs to be finished. I hate leaving projects i have started unfinished. After this is done....we'll see what happens.

Hey all,

Wife, Kid 1, Kid 2, new job, 140k miles on my motor and burning an amazing amount of oil. Other than that, I'm not up to much.

How is everyone else??

Cliff-where are these 3 jobs? Is one in Adams Morgan?

Oh, I'v never really met anyone here but here is what keeps me busy:

I have a car (SVT) that falls apart. A house (in Arlington) that falls apart. A wife that that mentally falls apart when I spend $$$ on my CSVT. Two kids that make me want to mentally fall apart. A business (mortgage) which is constantly changing. However, I really have no complaints.

Anyway, Pete what is wrong with your stomach? Also, what is your problem with noobs? Wasn't everyone a noob once?

Posted By: DanG Re: Cap CEG slowness - 05/08/05 01:22 PM
FEH! Slow??!! Nothing of the sort! I have Absolute98SVT's SVT in my garage right now getting a new transaxle! My 3L block is ready for its forged internals, and ADC should have my T3/4 kit done in 3-4 weeks.

Just 'cause the rest of you don't want to trek to Gainesville ain't MY fault...

What was that about pissing money down the drain?
Posted By: Quick_SVT Re: Cap CEG slowness - 05/08/05 06:36 PM
Well i have three broken bones in my right foot
Recently became an insomniac due to not being able to walk
Can't drive, so meets are out for a while
Spent so much time at home ive become a halo 2 master

So i'm just taking it one day at a time till my foot gets better, since it is much warmer now and i got some mods on my SVT i'll be showing up to future meets. Pending my foot healing of course.

I'm getting married next month and just got a dog. I'm getting my new business of rehabbing houses off the ground. Playing indoor soccer and fixing up my townhouse. I'll make it to one of the meets eventually to hopefully meet everyone once things calm down after the wedding. Still have my SVT and ever so slowly working on it. I want some more power from my car so i'll probably be calling Dan G. or someone this summer to help me out.

I've been working on my house and trying to make time to do the brakes and flush the coolant in the Tour. Going to make a real effort this weekend

Got back on my mountain bike for the first time this year last Sunday. Normally I'd have 2 months under my belt already, but the last 7 months have been insane. First race is in a month - have my work cut out for me.

FWIW my first ride of the season was also my first crash of the season... fell backwards down a steep incline, foot still in the clipless pedal, flat onto back, bike rotating over my head as we went down No harm done to me except for a slightly sore back and a couple of bruises... unfortunately my trusty steed has a bent axle. Gives me an excuse to get a better rim, I guess.

Contour is holding up nicely, although she's starting to show her age in the paint department. rear bumper is dulling a bit, and the hood seems to be attracting more chips than OJ.

What I really need is a pickup, due to the house. Will end up picking up a beater in the next month or so. If anyone knows of a good-running pickup for around $2K, let me know.

Thanks, yeah, there's usually a few possibilities on there, but in this price range something with a known history would be a huge plus.

I knew that you worked in Adams Morgan from a sighting post you made a while back.

The reason I asked is this: I am a former D.C. Bartender. Literally, I worked in D.C./VA bars & restaurants for about 16 years. Many of my good friends still bartend in D.C. Anyway, knowing that you worked in Adams Morgan, I could almost assume that your Adams Morgan job was a restaurant/bar job. One of my best friends (Robb D.) bartends at Biddy Mulligan's (DuPont & 19th). Robb knows the DuPont/Adams Morgan area really well. He actually ran Stetsons for a period of time. Robb & I go out for drinks about once a month. We can come in, behave ourselves, and drop big. What do you do at Chloe? Also, when are your shifts?

i work the door on thursdays, but its always dead on thursdays, but then on fridays and saturdays i work the stairs to the lounge and VIP area.

this is for anyone, if you want to ever come up there, let me know via PM or email at damnit79@hotmail.com and i will put you on the guest list. it's called chole, and it's located on 18 & Columbia above Saki and next to Asylum. just give me a few days advance and i can get up to 6 people in with no cover. the cover is only five bucks, but that's a five to get a drink with too. the dress code is no athletic wear, no tennis shoes (unless they are "style" tennis shoes i.e. pumas, deisel, steve madden, etc...) no timberlands and no hats. it's a really chill place and on fridays the DJ is Dirty Hands from KYS. they start with some house then go to hip-hop around 12:30. my guest list closes at 11:30 and parking is a b*tch.

P.S. the women who come there are simply amazing, that may not attract any of you guys who involved *cough*andy*cough* but it's still a fun time. latas

Weird.

Myself (though not a part of Capitol CEG):

- Working 1 job 6-7 days a week (last paycheck features 51 hrs of overtime)
- Dealing with stomach issues (gave up finding a cure)
- Trying to get out of debt (will take another 3 yrs or something, meanwhile - $1,300 every month thru some Get-Out-Of-Debt non-profit)
- Loss of serious interest in life

LOL! Last time I went to Adams Morgan, I almost got into a fight were it not for some quick bouncers. I was at Tom Toms with my buddy and three good looking girls and they regulars were bitter.

Thanks but I'll pass. BTW, my bachelor party is likely going to end up at Mons Venus in Tampa, so eat your heart out.

bast*rd, i have some family in tampa and my cousins have talked highly about that place. have fun

Not much for me.

Working on 2 jobs. One is in transition due to contract loss to another competitor.

Just moved to a SF house near Columbia from Owings Mills. Still spend time clean out my previous townhome.

Wife is going to graduate this summer (I hope). Daughter (4.5 years old) starts at new school.

My CSVT still drives very well, although with constant noise from the pipe (loosing sheath around the pipe). Have been thinking about getting Borla for a long time but always have something more urgent to attend. Also, my CSVT has never done better than 25 MPG, though all the miles are driven on I-95. Most of the time it only does 23 MPG. I saw some post before that the UIM/LIM need to be cleaned. Haven't done that either.

Lost in a friendly 'race' to my buddy's '05 G35 Coupe. He just learned how to drive stick AFTER he got his car. It was me to help him drive the car out of dealer's lot and teach him how to drive. Made me want to seriously modify my CSVT.

Definitely want to attend guys meeting. Probably some time in the summer?

Hope every body well!
