I recently bought a short runner, metal intake manifold from a member on the board here. I'll be getting some new dyno numbers sometime next week. I had planned on going in friday after work but the dyno guys were too busy working out a new tune for a twin turbo Viper to get me on the rollers.

My install process was interesting. As most of you know, you have to move the alternator down to use the Ford Racing intake mani, it's the same with the one I bought. I decided to try to do that without buying the SVT alternator bracket (which places the alt lower) and it turned out to be a pain. I wound up grinding quite a bit of metal out of the bracket and the alt itself. It fits now though. I also had to cut some relief out of the windshield wiper cowl area so the throttle body cable bracket would fit back in there comfortably. I don't mind really, and you can't see it now that I've got everything in there. The person who made it told me he's doing some design revisions to prevent having to do this in the future. I'm fine with it though, just took a couple of extra minutes.

Now, the important part - The performance is awesome. I know it means almost nothing without dyno numbers (they're coming soon, I swear) but I will say this - I can definitely feel the difference. With the mods I have already, I felt no low end loss and the top end screams. There used to be a fairly pronounced point where it felt like my power dropped off, or at least leveled out, at around 6000rpms. and it just pulls all the way up to 7200 now. It also seems like I get through the RPMs faster now. The tach boogies toward redline, it's good times for sure.

If I'm on the highway and downshift from 5th to 3rd, it used to be that the car would make a lot of noise and not do too much, power wise. Not the case now. The car pulls real nice to redline on the downshift, and continues to pull hard when I put it in 4th and nail it again. I'm very pleased.

From what I can tell, this is right up there with the SCT for noticable power gains.

Sample review from the prototype guy. Dyno`s are comming one of these days

I thought you were the guy making them.
