Alrighty, i got Trubendz exhaust on my car, and basically it leaks like a mother cause trubendz dosent know how to tset fit a pipe to make sure the OPENING ISNT TO BIG. anyways, the U-Clamps dont do anything no matter how much i tighten them they are still loose and i can pull the other tube out..
So i got to thinking of welding the whole system up, but im cheap and want to try something else; What about getting some JB weld and lining the inside of the pipe, then installing the other pipe and clamping it all down, that should fill all the small gap left from the pipe, and then ill just do a line of JB weld along the edge to make sure it seals.
Any idea if that will stay? ive got a feeling that the vibrations will cause the JB weld to fail and break apart.
Weld it properly you ghetto arse mf'er.
I dont know how well JBweld will hold up, maybe a very high temp rubbery glue stuff?? you should still see how much it would cost to weld, might be less agervation in the end to just pay a little bit more then JBweld or other glue stuff to have it done right the first time.

Most shops are quoting me like 10-20 bucks a weld.. at 5 welds.. thats 50-100 bucks.
One tube of JB weld=7 bucks.
It was just an idea, i mean if it works why not. If its not going to work then why bother.
Ive never used the stuff so just asking if the properties will hold up on an exhaust.
Did you try talking to Trubendz about your problem? It seem s to me like Trubendz is either hit or miss. My pipes fit together perfectly (I even had to take a file to remove burrs to get them to slide together) The only problem I encountered was to get the tips centered in the rear cutouts, I had to bend a hanger.
Edit-
If you don't want to go through the hassle of sending/waiting for a new kit...why don't you just RENT a pipe expander from autozone or where ever? The pipe that is too small, expand it a little so it fits more snug into the bigger pipe.
Using Jb weld could be a disaster. IF it holds up, if you miss a spot or it gets thin in a spot and exhaust can go through, you wont be able to get the pipe out to re-do it. That will create a whole new list of problems.

werd, trubendz is teh suck.. my tips suck ass as being alligned, even bending the hangers wont do anything cause it moves the other tip back. My one tip is like 1"- 1 1/2" farther out than the other.
Its been like 4 months and i havent driven my car much so it hasent bothered me, but track days are coming up and i need to fix this.
So you can rent pipe expanders huh... hmm
That sucks, I'd go weld it because JB wont' hold up. It wont even hold up on the tiniest leak I have and it's 1 hairline, I need to replace it monthly, I can't get mine welded because it's the center res of the bosal, just the rolled steel separated on impact the tiniest bit, not bad at all.
Get it welded and smile at the results, or sell it and by a flange fit bosal
IT shouldn't cost more than $50 to get the whole thing welded. Find a shop that isn't run by a bunch of muppets/crooks.

werd, its probably better that way anyways.
Any ideas on how i can get the tips allighned, without going drastic on the hangers?
Any good exhaust shop should be able to align your tips before they weld that gay ass slip joint up

$$$$ i dont want to spend any
then shut up and do it the wrong way and then spend twice as much money later down the road. why did you ask if you knew you were gonna have to spend money, think about it who would agree to doing something half assed
Bend your car's passenger hanger so that it compensates for the unequal spacing of your tips, and weld them onto the car. Obviously rubber gives way, so there's no way around it.

Best torch for bending the hangers? i tried propane, DEF not hot enough.

This is the exact same problem I had with my Trubenz exhaust. The passenger side stuck out a good 2" farther than the driver side.
I ended up paying a muffler shop $50 to cut and reweld the passenger tip so it was the same as the driver.
If I'd known the Trubenz quality I would have bought something else.
To the original poster, if you are bent on no welding, get some of the muffler repair putty. It will set up like cement and will last a whole lot longer than JB weld would.
Tourige...you should be shot. You ghetto azz mother fawker.
Go to autozone or whatever parts store is closet to you and get a reducer,as in the little piece of exhaust pipe that goes from say 2.5 inch to 2.75 inch (or whatever sive you need.Still be cheaper and work better than the JB Weld.

i have the same problem as you and tourige. mine is probably 2" off like yours. the guy that put mine on tried moving the hanger but since the rubber moves it just went back to where it wanted to be.
is cutting and rewelding the only option? or is it just cheaper and easier than bending the pipes after they split? (did they do the cutting while it was on the car or did you have to take it off yourself and bring it in?)
the exhaust sounds awesome but looks horrid when its uneven.
fixing this would make me very happy
(im not worry about spending a few $'s btw)
hmm.. thinking twice about getting a trubenz system. I thought most people were happy with the trubenz system they got.
This is a little late but if it helps at after I cracked my oil pan 2 years ago (don't ask) I put some JB Weld on 2 inch crack on the inside after cleaning it up and havn't had any trouble since. Put on about 20,000 miles and thats driving in -30 in MN and 95+ in Florida this summer, so its seen its share of shrinking and expanding.
Should have went Bassani!!
5 years and zero leaks.

I am perfectly happy with mine. I think most people are happy with their system, it's just that you usually only hear about the bad ones because those are the owners who need to fix something. And in all honesty, something as small as a hanger needing to be bent over an inch, or a pipe fitting too loose inside another are hardly worth noting as they are literally 5 minute fixes.

LMAO! Hit it on the head. And by Adam no less.
My exhaust setup didnt fit to my liking, went to a shop and got it aligned. It cost $40, I sent Trubendz an email about it. Making a long story short, I sent a scanned copy of the receipt and get $40 off another part from Trubendz. I still haven't needed another part though.
$10-20 a weld with 5 welds is a complete rip off. If you brought it to me, I would have welded the thing for you for $30, assuming you took it off your car. Like what was said above, take it to a shop that isnt ran by a bunch of crooks. As far as JB weld. No more cutting corners with your car. There is a difference between not having enough, then waiting to do something, and just plain going ghetto style to save a buck.
