so i was cleaning my car yesterday, i bought it used 3 years ago. I was poking around and looked under my glove box. That is the PCM computer eh? I seen a SUPERCHIP sticker wrapped around the plug thing WHERE IS THE CHIP!!!!is it supposed to be plugged into the PCM where you can see it, or is it inside the PCM soldered to those j3 ports INSIDE the computer...can someone help me cus if i have a chip that would be cool

It was probably removed and sold before you got the car. Superchips are plugged firmly into the PCU and a bolt keeps it there. You would see the chip if it was there.

I still have one that I never had re-tuned for my car. No idea why I still have it!

I think that is the factory remote entry controller.

The PCM should be under the Power Steering Reservoir (near passenger side strut tower) accessible from the engine bay.

not to contridict, because im not that familiar with these cars yet, but on my 99'csvt there is a spot under the pass. dash on the far right side where there is a spot for a chip(thats where my peformance chip is located). just thought i would give my $.02.

Underneath the power steering resevoir is NOT where the chip is located.....under the resevoir is a BIG HARNESS....From the top of this HARNESS comes out TWO WIRES, for the ground id expect, wich are both Solid BLACK and RED striped wich are BOLTED to the inner fender. MINE was not BOLTED in all the way, it was shaky loose (the bolt in mine was a 10mm) Can someone tell me what these wires are for?? Ground?? So I torqued this bolt down tight. So, if anyone has any questions on where the CHIP is.....its NOT under the POWER STEERING RESEVOIR. So, this leads me to believe that the CHIP if you have one...is under the glove box right...? Can someone enlighten me on CHIP LOCATION please. Thanks a mill.

Ok, before you confuse people anymore, just stop. You also need to clarify what you mean by CHIP. (PCM or a Superchip?)

The PCM is under the power steering reservoir, AND also near the glove box. To remove or install it, you unbolt the harness under the power steering reservoir, then drop it down into the interior from inside the car.

A Superchip would be installed onto the plug in the front of the PCM by removing the cover.

SVT4STD, man, I clearly pointed a valuable piece of info for anyone here. all you said is "front" where is the front of the pcm? can you clarify YOURSELF for me please? All i asked is Where is a "SUPERCHIP" supposed to be installed? the "front" doesnt help me. Also, does anyone know what the two wires are for coming out the top of the harness under the power steering resevoir?

On the PCM, on the side that is visible inside the car, there is a black cover (or used to be a cover there) , remove the cover and the Superchip would plug into that port under the cover.

Oh gotcha, thanks for the clarification there. So its supposed to be plugged in to the BOTTOM LEFT side of this PCM thingy on to the board? and this bolt protuding from my floor board is supposed to hold this CHIP in there? I got it thanks.
