just a heads up~

i just ordered my exhaust components from justmagnaflow.com. had free shipping and the lowest prices of anywhere i looked. the exhaust guys were saying that the prices were cheaper than they could get from their distributors. they were asking like $150ish a piece for the mufflers, i got them for $85. called friday, and all the stuff showed up by my front door today. total was $227.77

hehe, thats kroger brand fruit loops. actually WAY better than real fruit loops. i munch on them all day as a snack. what you cant see is the animal crackers just out of view. those are even better!

Frankly, Chris, I'm just jealous of your beerstained chair!! I'm gonna go the great indoors and get one now!

This makes my mind get off topic: One of my favorite jokes was on the Last Comic Standing series:

Said by some guy with a hunched back and a mop for hair that covered his face, looked like McFoley from the WWF, and just spat great one liner's his whole act, hilarious stuff.

dang dude, you got a good deal it seems. I think I paid $185 each for my magnaflows. They look similar to those. Are those 3" straight through race series or are they the street series? Looks good though. I want to hear how it'll sound with the resonator. I don't have one and I don't think I need it, not to raspy but I'm sure it won't hurt.

That guy's a knock off. Stole the style from Steven Wright! If you want to see some funny shiz, go find some Steven Wright stuff. Hint: He's the "guy on the couch" in Half Baked!

by the way, the are the race series 14842 (i believe). 6" body, 4" tips. i dont recall the res. part number off the top of my head.

i was a little wary of ordering from them since they were so cheap (when my installer told me he couldnt get them that cheap). i found them off of a link from the magnaflow website, so i figured they had to be stand up since the were linked to from there. but, the bottom line is i had a very good experiance with this vendor and was just trying to pass on the hookup.

how was the cust. service kingpin? when i buy my exhaust, i may consider this route...
Posted By: KingpinSVT Re: justmagnaflow.com - 07/12/04 02:25 AM
i just called, they took part numbers and quantity, gave them the credit card number, and they were on their way the next day. called them for a tracking number the next day and that was that. on my front door a week later. they will email the tracking number if you want.

I got my resonator from them, 52 shipped to my door fast. I didnt even call, did it all online and got a tracking number too. I'm going to get the rest of my exhaust from them eventually, money got tight.

Kingpin I am considering the 5" body race series mufflers, post pics as soon as you install, I wanna see how it looks! get some sound files too if possible

street series any good? whats the difference between street and race?
Posted By: BStoneMega Re: justmagnaflow.com - 07/12/04 02:31 PM
here dude, you can check them out on my ride. Scroll down a little to see. magnaflows
Posted By: topgunz_1_dup1 Re: justmagnaflow.com - 07/13/04 04:36 AM
the street series are quieter, but dont flow as well. they have some kinda dumb baffle thing inside them.
Posted By: topgunz_1_dup1 Re: justmagnaflow.com - 07/13/04 04:41 AM
from the pic on bstones car...those things are huge! the tip size isnt bad...but that body just hanging out... the 5" body is probably a bit better about it but I just dont know if I'd get them for my car now...I am anti-visible mufflers lol I am damn curious about the sound tho... I might just chop off my rear mufflers and only use the 10425 resonator...that ought to be loud enough
Posted By: KingpinSVT Re: justmagnaflow.com - 07/13/04 05:25 AM
wait till you see the polished mufflers in person, then you will want to be able to see them!
Posted By: LuckySVT Re: justmagnaflow.com - 07/13/04 06:45 AM
I am considering switching to magnaflows in the future. I have 40 series flowmaster originals with no res right now. I was wondering what difference in sound i will notice? Also King, do you know if that magnaflow res will restrict any flow? Or will u be giving up some flow but gettin rid of that raspy noise. Just wondering, they look awsome! Whats the part #'s again?
Posted By: KingpinSVT Re: justmagnaflow.com - 07/13/04 06:29 PM
mufflers 14842
res. 10436

everything is straight through, so no bottlenecks. there shouldnt be any performance loss from the res. also, the main pipe will be 2.5 inches, instead of the stock 2.25". after the split it will be 2.25 inches again.
Posted By: KingpinSVT Re: justmagnaflow.com - 07/16/04 12:05 AM
exhaust is on. sounds so beautiful! will get sound clips ASAP!

King:
Is the resonator part number you listed did you put the resonator in the stock system? You are mentioning the 2 1/2" inlet vs. 2 1/4" outlet.
Got dimensions?
I would like to replace my stock resonator with the magnaflow. I'm an old fart so I will leave the dual stockers on my CSVT. Thanks
Posted By: KingpinSVT Re: justmagnaflow.com - 11/07/04 03:20 AM
no, the res. i bought was for 2.5" piping (i had the whole system replaced). they do make the same one i bought for 2.25", which is what you would want if you are just putting it on the stock exhaust. i dont know the part # though, it should be pretty easy to figure out on the website.

My res was 10425, sounds really sweet with the factory mufflers in the back, gutted precats and its even better. has some resonance at around 2K, but at highway speeds you cant hear it, everybody complements the sound though

in that pic it looks like the muffler is hanging really low, i.e you cans ee the bottom half of the muffler and the pipe. Does all aftermarket mufflers look like this on the SVT's? I also have an 89 mustang 5.0 with the cobra rear bumper and 3" straight pitpes coming out the back and all you see is the pipe which sticks out just past being flush with the bumper. It looks great, very clean. I may be hesitent to replace the stock mufflers on the SVT if they are going to hang so low.
Posted By: KingpinSVT Re: justmagnaflow.com - 11/09/04 06:32 AM
are you talking about the round mufflers, like this?

if you dont like that look, they make the oval (flat top and bottom, round on the sides. the standard muffler shape) mufflers as well. just look around.

you can get race series in something like this. is that what your looking for?
Posted By: chill1110 Re: justmagnaflow.com - 11/09/04 07:13 PM
Yes that is what I'm talkin about in the first pic. See how you can see alot of the muffler where it attaches to the exhast pipe right inside the bumper. The muffler itself is bigger in diameter then the pipe coming throught the bumper. IIRC you dont see that on the stock exhaust...all you see is the pipe coming out the hole in the bumper. Maybe the exhaust in that pic is mounted lower than stock or is that just the look of that particular setup? It does seem to hang lower though which would be a concern for lowered cars. I Persoanlly just like seeing the pipe w/out seeing the all that muffler. The oval muffler picture you posted might infact be the the answer to what im talking about. Since it is flat on the bottom this might "hide" the muffler more behind the back bumper so all you see is the pipe exiting the bumper (which is what i like

It's a "look" and seeing as the "N1" style Magnaflows are polished to a mirror finish, I personally think they look the sh!t.

i had to break up your post to keep things clear.

1. you cannot see my exhaust piping at all. the "pipe" coming through the bumper is the exhaust tip. these mufflers have tips attached to them, as does the flat muffler i posted above.

2. the stock exhaust is hidden b/c the stock mufflers are small, flat, and nasty looking. they also use that unattractive little pipe sticking down from them. these are stainless polished beauties. as stazi said, its a different look. and with how great these mufflers look, you should be able to see them.

3. any aftermarket muffler with a tip attached is going to have to be mounted lower than stock, so that the tip sticks through the bumper cutout. otherwise it would be pointing at the inside of the back of my bumper. it does indeed hang lower, and i have scraped it once (on a nasty nasty driveway dip, i had no choice) otherwise, a little change in how you take dips when pulling in and out of places is all you need to keep them from hitting.

you can probably have the exhaust shop just mount another muffler just like the stock one, and just reuse that little bent pipe "tip" that is on the stock one. this setup is a "look" i guess, but there are other options for doing a performance exhaust.
Posted By: chill1110 Re: justmagnaflow.com - 11/10/04 04:36 AM
the muffler itself I agree looks very nice. The chrome or stainless is very shiny and looks good it its own right. Just wanted to clear up if it was a "look" or all aftermarket would look like that. As nice as the shine is on the muffler I do think it hangs a little too low and as you and I both mentioned it would and does tend to hit bottom on occasions. I guess its up to persoanl prefernce for "the look" As for me I would try to do something like you said as far as using the bent piece or having a new one put on b/c I like just seeing the tip instead of alot of the muffler. I have seen too many imports w/ that look thats why i would tend to lean away from that setup. I want to keep my ride looking American/Euro as much as possible w/out any import influences.

Cheers
