nice shiny black, must be the camera or the fact you took those with a lack of sun in the sky looks great btw, can't wait to see what you have planned for it....(no rice please)

EDIT: is that an SRX in the driveway of a suburban home? Hrm, lol now I'll bet you already have a list of things you wanna do to this car? Hehe.
Posted By: BigBEN_dup1 Re: Pics of my NEW CSVT!!! - 08/10/06 02:46 AM
trust me...no rice

eyelids, new lights/bulbs, CAI, Exhaust upgrade (not sure what yet), and wheels and tires eventually

You said it had a few scratches here and there but it looks real good

How many miles on your first car?

Also, consider lowering it, 17's or 18's, and a mirko
Posted By: m4gician Re: Pics of my NEW CSVT!!! - 08/10/06 03:01 AM
If you can pull off clear corners that would be good, but with the exhaust you basically could do it cheap (i noticed you saved up all summer) or spend some decent money on a trubendz or magnaflow set up. You maybe want to try to do the easy stuff first, i.e. optimize TB, get the Y-pipe optimized, change the plugs, clean the UIM/LIM, put some 5w20 synthetic in there, and load er up with 91 octane. Also replace your resonator with 4inch round pipe from magnaflow and drop in your K&N intake and you're set. All of the easy stuff should be a little bit more, but well worth it, plus you really get to know your car that way. Do that and then save up for the expensive mods.

EDIT: A mirko would be nice, very nice to be precise.

and no to lowering...i have to go up and down a big curb in my driveway every day and it would kill my car if it was too low...but YES to 18's...possibly superleggeras or konig Trouble (have to see them on the car) or just a black rim with a chrome lip...

Its going to look like a freaking 4 by 4 with 18's and no lowering.

If you saw the [censored] ive driven over/ up to with 4" of front ground clearance you'd see the light of day.

Trust me, when I first got my CSVT I said id never lower it....

Good looking SVT, nice find.

Where in Wixom are you located? I'm in nearby West Bloomfield/Commerce.
Posted By: Berkel Re: Pics of my NEW CSVT!!! - 08/10/06 05:13 AM
If you're not into lowering it, that's cool.

BUT.

You can still get into your driveway lowered, you just have to back in. If you go in forwards, your front bumper'll scrape on the way out. We have all those big concave curbs around here, I hate them, but backing in poses no trouble at all.

If you'e worried about scraping, it's not as big a problem as you might think.

They are cheap

I sit about 4" off the ground and with the ramps can clear an 8" curb, just take it at an angle and go nice and slow. Or get some ramps and take it straight on. As for areas in your city you may scrape on, one you find them and avoid them once, they tend to never be a problem again.

Just saying if you'd like to lower the car, do it. It's not a big hassle like you're thinking

Cool. Where do you get them?

Eibach + Mirko = ~3"-4" ground clearance. There hasn't been a driveway I couldn't make it up yet.

Just pull up to the incline like you're parallel parked on it. Then turn your wheel in the direction of the curb so the treads are facing the curb. Slowly creep forward and let that front tire climb up, pulling you up the curb.

Same goes for reverse. You just have to crank the wheel before you get to the end of the driveway, so you are leaving the driveway at the same angle as you approached it.

Im off of charms and wixom road...once u get off the experss way turn towards the ford plant and follow that road for a whole then u will see charms and i am down that road.

that might be a problem here in new england cause of snow, the town will not allow such things that may come in the way of the plow trucks cause honestly they will plow right over it and wreck it..
Posted By: ElKy Re: Pics of my NEW CSVT!!! - 08/10/06 04:35 PM
i was thinking the same thing
Posted By: Goonz SVT Re: Pics of my NEW CSVT!!! - 08/10/06 04:38 PM
it is a neat idea none the less but it wont work here unfortunatly
Posted By: IRingTwyce Re: Pics of my NEW CSVT!!! - 08/10/06 04:41 PM
It'll work fine here in Texas! So I ask again, where do you get these?

Car looks great! Very nice looking ride. keep us posted on what you do.

Posted By: BigBEN_dup1 Re: Pics of my NEW CSVT!!! - 08/10/06 05:09 PM
i just would keep the wheels and tires how they are and now lower the car and be fine in my neighborhood...

how would 17's look not lowered?
Posted By: WorldTour_dup1 Re: Pics of my NEW CSVT!!! - 08/10/06 06:08 PM
Judging by the side moldings the car is a 99, not a 98.5.

Posted By: BigBEN_dup1 Re: Pics of my NEW CSVT!!! - 08/11/06 02:17 AM
YES, im positive the car is a 98.5, the car was built on 5/13/1998
Posted By: SVT SNOB Re: Pics of my NEW CSVT!!! - 08/11/06 02:57 AM
The car looks even better with the mirko on it . The best thing about it is it doesn't look like a 4x4 and with the mirko there is barely any scraping.

ive seen it with them on and off...and as of now...i like it off, ill have to see one in person to decide...
Posted By: SVT SNOB Re: Pics of my NEW CSVT!!! - 08/11/06 03:06 AM
You can see it at the EOSB. The mirko makes such a difference to the front of the car, it looks naked with out it.

It could very well be a 98.5. Mine is and had those same moldings as well.

They only used the different moldings for E0's.

Not true...
Mark Wilson's 98.5 SVTC You can clearly see the Mystique/E0 moldings on it.

It would have to be a very late build 98.5 to even have the possibility of getting the flat moldings.

Edit: This car would be a real late build, since Job one on the '99's was 6/17/98

Lower it dude, 18's too large, go subtle, 17's are what you want, here's mine....
