Today I was driving along when a car turned left in front of me while I was going through a green light and well you can see what happened. So far it looks like my car is a write off, after the cars collided my car went up on the curb and caught the light pole as well. My mom and I were taken to the Hospital. I suufered a broken arm (the air bag deployed and my arm took it full on). My mom is ok just really sore right now, but will be going back fir another check up. Worst part is I just got the car back on the road after not being able drive it since July 2005 . I literally just got home from the Hospital so I'm keeping this short. The shadowy figure in the cast is me.

The "Curse of Khan" strikes again. That's 2 cars totalled in less than a week of being on the road with that tranny in it.....fugger must be cursed.

God, I'm glad that you and your mom are alright. Give her my regards. I know you had just put so much work into that car and you always wanted an SVT. Man I feel for you.
Posted By: Chris@CTA Re: RIP SVT 1139**56K NO** - 06/06/06 03:25 AM
After the phone call conversation we had this evening, first thought of course was you and your mom's well being. Second thought, was how short a period of time you had the car on the road. Having to do a lot of driving (of work vehicles), I see so many more idiots on the road than in the past. Get them off the road, plain and simple, so that we won't have innocent victims getting hurt.

Other than the obvious broken arm that you suffered, I hope that you and your mom are okay.

sorry to hear that, but ill take those manifolds off your hands ^_^ hehe keep us up to date on your situation though.
Posted By: Augi Re: RIP SVT 1139**56K NO** - 06/06/06 04:39 AM
That sucks man... you got any plans for it?
I could take those EO's off your hands...
Posted By: Hrtatac1 Re: RIP SVT 1139**56K NO** - 06/06/06 04:49 AM
That does suck glad nobody was hurt.

I got $25 for the sunroof motor and need aftermarket cupholders if you have them.

Money helps ease the pain.
Posted By: SVT SNOB Re: RIP SVT 1139**56K NO** - 06/06/06 11:32 AM
Thank you to everyone for your kind words .

Augi I actually traded those wheels to have optimized TB made which I just got on Saturday.

Hrtatac1 my sunroof motor not working as well so there is no point in selling it.

As for my plans I'm looking for another CSVT & hopefully my engine is still ok, I shut the car off 3seconds after impact (literally). I will transfer over my 3L and my sound system to the new car.

I will keep everyone upto date on the situation.

Aww man! That car was either built the same day as mine or the day before. That's James' old car in case some don't know. Car has been to a few SZ's.

There's a couple of silver one's on autotrader.ca right now.

One of them has an asking price of only $2000
275,000km on it though
Posted By: Frosty Re: RIP SVT 1139**56K NO** - 06/06/06 04:24 PM
Sorry to see your car is busted up, but at least you and your mom could walk away. Best of luck with your next CSVT
Posted By: SVT SNOB Re: RIP SVT 1139**56K NO** - 06/06/06 04:43 PM
I saw those CSVTs on trader. Maybe that $2000 will be a nice project car. I should be finding out today what they estimate my damage is.

No more projects for you for a while A.

Well, Ross had almost 294,000 km when I sold him, and I don't know how many more Doug had put on in the meantime

Anyway, I'm really glad to hear you and your mom are all right. That's what really matters (and the fact the person who cut you off is very far away and I just drove 1000 miles yesterday).

Can I ask one question? Only people who have seen the car will likely understand. Did the passenger airbag deploy? If so, did the badge stay in place?
Posted By: SVT SNOB Re: RIP SVT 1139**56K NO** - 06/07/06 12:36 AM
James, Doug only put like 500,iles on the car before he drove it to Micighan. The has 307xxxkm on it.

Both airbags deployed, I haven't had a chance to actual look at the cover to see if the badge is still there. I will take a look at it when I go back to the bodyshop. I spoke with them earlier and they told me I should know by tomorrow what the verdict one the car is.

More updates to come as I am informed .

So that's the SVT Doug had to sell. Shame it had to meet fate like that. Well, all you can do it find another one Get better man.

I think I just threw up in my mouth when I saw those pics of "Ross" . That car was a trooper , that's for sure ! At least he kept you guys safe (all things considered) . I'm curious about James' badge too ...

Sorry to hear about your broken arm, your Mom being sore, but like everyone has said to you already, it could've been alot worse. The car can/will be replaced, the arm will heal and hopefully your Mom doesn't suffer anything afterwards. BTW, did you break your arm above or below the elbow
Posted By: SVT SNOB Re: RIP SVT 1139**56K NO** - 06/07/06 01:38 AM
Roger,

The bone connecting the wrist to the elbow (I don't know the medical term). Right now I am in a split from my hand to my elbow and if the swelling has gone down by Thursday I get a cast put on.

Happily, both passenger and driver are OK although a bit worse for wear.

I did the 3.0 conversion/build and I must say to James that the 2.5 was the cleanest motor I've seen with that kind of mileage on it. I told Aaron at the time that I didn't believe him about the mileage. Figured the motor must have been replaced/rebuilt somewhere along the way. The cylinder bore cross hatch was still visible!

In more ways than 1, the transaxle was the problem.

Anyhow, it appears that there will be another conversion coming along soon, right Aaron! It would be a waste to let that motor and all the new and custom suspension parts go to the wrecker/crusher.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I'm really happy you guys are safe but NOOOOOOOOOOO! The short time I had that car it was my baby! I think I put like 1500 miles on it, I can still hear the rumble of the exhaust in my mind! you and that car did not mesh well for some reason..... Sorry for your loss.... aslo interested to hear about the badge....

Well Aaron let me give you some advice, when you need to scratch underneath the cast, get a butter knife

Yeah, I miss the car . For some reason we did not mesh well at all but I still loved that car (must be tough love). The body shop submitted it's report saying the car is a write off, but I haven't heard how much the damage is.

Wow, man... I'm glad you and your mom came out of it pretty well, but that totally sucks about the car. I hope you find another and get back on the road soon. I am just amazed at some of the stupid stuff drivers do out there.
