And the Contour is doing very well.

Eat that, Hondas. One of them was even an illegal 2006 Si with the factory LSD. He was on stock Michelins, but still...

The three driver car is several seconds off Mike Louie's '89 Si, despite similar prep. I think they're down on power: a LOT. That puts me around 2 seconds off Mike... which is really, really good. I'm actually thinking I would beat some people in the PA championships this summer. The look on the Honda driver's faces when a Contour gets them is priceless, and would be well worth the trip!

The Saturn WAGON there was pretty sick, too. It was cool to see two non-spec cars walk all over the regular winners.

My friend co-drove, and said it felt pretty good. I tend to agree. Power is great, mid-corner grip is pretty substantial, and transients are very snappy. It could use more tire, and maybe more camber/toe: I was on my street alignment while I figure out the new rubber. The MXs are feeling very good, but the 205/55 isn't enough. I like the extra height, though. I think the extra couple mph on straights might make up for the CG height and weight, but it's close. I have no qualms about getting 225/50 Azenis or maybe MXs. With two of us practially hot-lapping the car, even the MXs were getting close to overheating, but they never fell off.

The new springs and endlinks make the rear very stiff, but smooth. Lift-throttle oversteer is easy to induce, and very controllable. The front end never plows unless you do something stupid. I did get behind on my last run, going a bit too hard, and spun it: right off the runway. I was way too close to the runway lights for comfort! They wouldn't have hurt more than sheetmetal and paint, but still... This is why they tell you to go both feet in instead of trying to save it!

Great job. I think you would do better on 225/50 azenis.

Those spins can be sorta fun, but I guess not if you come close to hitting something. Sucks it was on your last run. I don't know about you, but the last run is always my fastest.

I look forward to seeing what you do in the coming months. I also look forward to getting out there with my svt and learning how to drive it. It's gonna be a lot different than the escort.

From looking at the cone count and 4th run DNF, it kind of looks like you're doing the attack, attack, clean run, banzai! type of four run autocross (that I'm often guilty of). Is this your mindset?

Four seconds raw off of Strano ain't bad at all considering ...

I'm not sure why I was coning so heavily. I think it was the long winter of playing LFS in the forumula cars. I've been trying to focus on nailing it in three runs, to get ready for bigger events. My times weren't bad, but the cone count

The last run was too hot: I wanted a 39.xxx and didn't have the time to get it the right way

Looking good, interesting mix of cars. We have a saturn that runs in HS that finished in the iin the top ten at our test and tune, the guy drives the snot outtsa that car

I had my first points event on the 13th. Did well considering its only my 2nd time running the new coug. Finished 4th raw and 10th PAX times It was raining in the morning and dried up in the afternoon so it was completly different. Ill get the suspension dialed in at the next event

In the miata running STS2.

The begining of the year my car did not feel like it was running right but at the second points event of this year on the 13th I thought it was feeling pretty good.

I ended up 32nd in PAX and about 1.866 seconds back from top pax. I know a few places I left time out there. I was about 1/2 second behind the top STS civic and about 1 second behind our top ES miata in raw times. My goal this year is to catch both of them if I can.

In a few weeks I will be at the Peru, IN ProSolo and then at the Devens, MA national tour so I will get some real competition there and see how the car stacks up.

im hopefully going to be at the dual regional in peru on June 17/18. I want to see what i can do at a bigger event
I'll be at the NEDiv event in July, but that's the only big event this summer. Not too far for you, Shawn....

I think the Contour (and I) can do mid-pack in STS, better if I get off the 205/55 Kumhos and onto 225/50 Azenis by then.
NEDiv is about 7 hours for me.

I might go but it depends on how $$ looks after june with all the events that I am hitting.

June 3/4 - Peru ProSolo
June 10/11 - Devens National Tour (I think I can stay with my brother for this one)
June 24/25 - Washington D.C. ProSolo - whoohoo a local event for me.

between food/hotel/gas for us I don't know if we will make that one. I also have a set of 15X7.5" rims comming in sometime end of june or so and will need to get new tires for those (225/45/15 hankooks?)

My local events have more people than you will see at many national tours.
