KPH gauge faces - CEG Archives

Everywhere I look for some different gauge faces for my car, they are always of the 130 mph variety, but the ones in my car are 240 KPH.
Recently I have been in contact with a company that does have these type of faces available for us Canadians who have the 240 kph speedo in our Contiques.
Keep in mind that these faces are replacement gauge faces, not overlays. They use the stock backlighting for illumination.
The faces can either be white, yellow, or silver. The backlighting can be red, blue, green or yellow. Custom logo's can be added too.
There are HVAC's available for Contour owners who want to get in on this, but there are none for the Mystique, where our's are a different shape. The list pricing is as follows: Contour w/HVAC=$135 CDN, Contour/Mystique w/o HVAC=$119 CDN.
Now for the discounts. 1-4 sets, 10% off; 5-10 sets, 15% off; 10-20 sets, 20% off. Custom work would be on top of the group buy price, quoted individually to each customer and is 15% the list price.

What do ya think? Whether this takes off or not, I'm gonna get some.

I've been looking for SVT KPH gauges forever but nobody can ever find the part number for me. I was about to make my own but I want them authentic looking like the Canadian SVT's (i've seen some!).

Let me know if you can find me some SVT KPH gauges or make some. Thanks

Newfie, I can't get the pic to load for whatever reason so my question is: I have been looking and I think quite a few people over the years as well for a VW Jetta version. Blue with the red needles.
You say these pieces are not an overlay(like the importintelligence.com ones), so you will have to pull off the old piece from the clear plastic and then lay the new ones on? Will they come with adhesive on it already? And one more for customizing, since I have an SVT, can they make one with the SVT logo on it much like the stock piece but made so that the SVT will light up?

I know this is for KPH, btu can you inquire about MPH for those of us that prefer MPH instead?

Thanks for doing this, I've been looking for something like this since I had my first SVT and was about ready to go some Hollywood movie car designers to see if they could do it.

nyceboi, I just emailed him about SVT gauges. Will post a response when I get it. Also inquired for mike about the custom logo. Mike, I'll email you the pic that I have posted, so you can see an example.

Those look good. Does the CEL come with it too?

Yeah, if it can be done to look like the 160MPH SVT with blue all I need to know is where does my money go.

Here is the SVT gauges that they have. I'm sure you can change the logo on the 160 mph one.

They said that the only Contique gauges they don't have are the ones without tach.
Putz, I'll ask for examples of the colours that they have.

They never sent me a pic of blue on silver, but here are some examples of the kind of work they do (not contours).

Need anything more, post it up.

So what do we do to get a set of them?

I want a set in silver with stock green backlighting, KPH, with a V6 logo. Now what?

I'm thinking what we have to do is get a bunch of people interested to drive the prices down, email the company with the names, then phone em up, tell them your name, so they know your part of the group buy, and order. Because if we can get between 11 and 20 people, thats takes the price down 20%.

Interesting how the redline is higher on the normal V6 versus the SVT gauges from their picture.

I wish I had the pic of the KPH gauges I've seen before. But would it be possible to make it look EXACTLY like the stock SVT gauges (the logo doesn't look right - too big?) And have the MPH being the smaller reading.

hate to take a sidebar here as well but does anyone have one of those templates and the right dimensions for v6 se's with a tach?

I want standard white SVT guages with Blue imprinting and Lighting with a 7500 rpm redline.

I do, if they need it I can send it. I have 95 SE w/tach

The tach is the same in newer models.

you can always try www.blackcatcustom.com ...they make guage faces as well,NOT overlays.They are also in Canada.They have many colors,graphics,etc for the guages as well as group buys.They make them for KMH or MPH.I know this because I live 5 mins.away from their store/shop.This could very well be the same place as everything sounds the same!!!!
