have had this code for quite sometime, car is undriveable, stalls 10-15 times on short trips, no stalling on long hiway trips. recently changed plugs and wires, thought this would help, how hard is it to change the coilpack, are there any other ignition componets that could be changed or related to ignition or this code.

thanks

If this is a V6, did you check the ground connection on the coil pack? If not loose, it could have some rust built up around or something along those lines.

Just a thought. Good luck.

NC1 DTC P0320: ERRATIC IGNITION

Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0320 indicates two successive erratic Profile Ignition Pickup (PIP) pulses occurred resulting in a possible engine miss or stall.

Possible causes:

-- Loose wires/connectors.

-- Arcing secondary ignition components (coil, wires and plugs).

-- On-board transmitter (2-way radio).

NOTE:
Verify all 2-way radio installations. Carefully follow manufacturer's installation instructions regarding the routing of antenna and power leads.

l Are any of the above present?

Yes
REPAIR as necessary. Complete PCM Reset to clear DTCs. RERUN «Quick Test».

No
For No Starts:

GO to Pinpoint Test Step «A1».

For Intermittent Faults:

GO to Pinpoint Test Step «Z1».

All others:

Loss of PIP. REPLACE PCM.

Disconnect the spark plug wires, connector in the front and take out the 4 bolts at each corner. Remove. Reverse.

I would suspect the crank sensor long before anything else, especially the PCM.
