hi everyone. i have a 97 contour. tried to replace the cigar lighter (that didnt work). the wires were disconnected on the back of it. can anyone tell me what plugs into what? looks like there is a double plug on one wire and a single plug on another. i tried a couple combinations but just blew the fuse and the dash light fuse. looks like two "tabs" on the back of the new lighter... any help? thanx.

I tried to look it up, but came up empty.
I think the double goes to the 2 tabs where the bulb is and the single goes to the back of the lighter.

In the picture I see in the manual it shows 3 tabs on the backside of the lighter.

The BLK wire is ground. WHT/BLU is the illumination terminal. Connected with the dash lights. Fuse F31. C912a. Two terminal plug.

The ORG/YEL wire is the HOT. It goes to the "main" power connector. Fuse F27. C912A. Single conductor in the shell.

If your replacement is an aftermarket, it probably does not have the illumination terminal. If so, make certain the unused terminal/wire cannot short to ground.
