Hi all,
I just bought a 1998 Contour SE 2.5L MTX to replace our '97 GL 2.0L ATX and have a few questions. Does anyone know of an online vin decoder that will tell me all the options that my car has? I'm looking for all the information that would have been on the original window sticker. is there a way to get that info from the vin?

Some, but not all.

Most of the stuff on the sticker is fluff anyway, like "Front-Wheel Drive" etc.

I saw that one in the FAQ, but it's not able to list my options. Specifically, I'm trying to determine if i have keyless entry. It's a'98 and came with only one PATS key. I'm was under the assumption that all cars with PATS keys have keyless entry, if so I want to buy a remote for it.

You could try just going to your local Ford dealer and asking them to find out for you. They should be able to run your VIN and find out for certain. I did that one time for an Oasis report and they did not even question me why.

I have a 99 with PATS but no keyless entry.

I added an aftermarket alarm, and a solenoid for remote trunk release.

If you don't have a trunk release solenoid, you don't have keyless entry.

keyless or not!

Best to get duplicate PATS key asap. Early '98s req'd one valid PATS key to program another, later models req'd two (or dealer reprogram).
