68 Cougar XR7, sold it to a friend (1st mistake), so I could purchase a new 1977 Mustang II (2nd Mistake). Drove past it every day and watched the poor thing on blocks being stripped. I felt helpless. It wasn�??t the most reliable, that would have to go to the wife 1986 merc Capri V6. It only failed to start once since new and that was right in our driveway. It needed a new ignition module (the one that Ford got sued about). I still have it for home depot runs and as a back up for the mystique LS (not the best ford I have ever owned but the last). The high mileage champ was my 86 tempo. After I had it for a while and fixed all the bugs it went 183k mi before I sold it to buy the Myst (3rd mistake????). The guy I sold it to went to 230k mi before needing a clutch. He sent it to the yard for want of a $600 clutch job.

The Mustang was my first car. It was the Ghia model with four on the floor. Looked good but all the power windows and locks didn't work. It had t-tops that leaked every time it rained. The A/C didn't work. The car was black with vinyl seats. The combo of color and vinyl in Texas in the summer, not good. But exterior looked damn good.

I am including my parents cars because some of them I drove quite a bit an I am including the sable wagons since they are so much like the taurus.

The best is the 00 SE. I hated all the taurus/sable wagons after I found out what it was like to drive a nice car like the mystique. I only had the 98.5 for a little less than a year (25K ?) but the 00 SE is going on three years for me (108K) so I have had a lot longer time to like it.

My Ford Contour '98 gl is the best CAR that i owned so far
but my 1990 Ford Bronco was the best truck that i had v-8 5,8l 4x4 i miss that truck especially in winter time

and for the worst it had to be my mercury zephyr '81 power steering was dead needed both of my arms to turn, took 3-4 quarts of oil/week flasher arm broken, rusted inside out, bad starter, alternator....danm just of piece of sh!t car winter beater

I would say my favorite ford so far was my 1979 Mustang Indy Pace Car replica. It was the v-8, not the 2.3L turbo. That car was not that fast, but it was rare (around 10,000 made) and looked cool. The car turned heads wherever it went. My SVT would be my favorite, but owning it for a little over a year has been a total nightmare!

and my favorite is my dad and I's 03 6.0l turbo diesel f250...kicks my v6 atx's ass

favorite ive owned is my contour, favorite of all time would be the 64.5 mustang, it helped get the ball rolling on the muscle car age

Favorite Ford ... hmm, I'm a hard-core CEG'er, what does that say?

(Actually, officially I haven't even owned a Contour yet; I used a 98.5 SE V6 ATX for a year and a half if that counts and still drive it on occasion. But when I do own one with MTX, it will be my favorite. People are correct when they say it handles like a BMW 3-series.

Least favorite ford ... if my PGT was more reliable, I would love it! It's got incredible handling and very decent speed. But, broken as it is (pretty much always), it's slipping down the ranks.

Most fun was the 66 Mustang that I along with the help of a bunch of friends and family restored. Best car is easily the 00 SE Contour. Great gas milage and plenty of power. Now if I can get the money to do all the things I read and see on here i will be truley happy.

i've only had one car so I can't have a favorite yet...

Umm why ???

All the cars that got traded in had at least 120K on them at the time.

The 96 mystique that my brother totaled had 120K and he blew up the engine from running it too hot

the 95 Mystique had 170K and was totaled by running off the road somehow (I am not sure how he managed this one)

the 98.5 that I totaled was still young with only 50K when I hit an oil patch on the road and slid into the other lane coming around a corner and hit a van headon.

Maybe you need to drive some more.

Nope this is my other brother who has not totaled any cars (so far)

My favorite Ford that I have owned would be the following:

1) My Lightning or my 1969 Mustang Fastback (It's a toss-up)
2) My 1990 GT, or my SVT Tour (also a toss-up)

Mine is my current daily driver, a 1986 Mustang GT. Love the 5.0 for power and durability: The engine internals have never been opened up in 206K miles. I replaced the original clutch at 200K miles; it still had some life left. I finally got around to replacing the original brake drums and rotors last month. Yeah, mostly highway miles, but the engine makes it to 5K RPM (a little above yellow line) at least once a week. I almost hate to let my 95 Contour GL V6 sit during the summer, but the Mustang is too much fun. At least until winter...

i dont want to sound like i have anythign against ford but im realy into older rides. rwd rides. i would like a starion or a older single turbo supra. what i realy want is a mr2 turbo. i would like one of those old school rides as a toy. my contour se is cool and all but i wouldnt really look towards another unless i stumble across a svt. but the se does satisfy my v6 5 speed craving and its quicker than my friend's 5 speed maxima so its cool.
