So, recently I had an issue where the car was bucking bad and threw a CEL - had it checked, turns out I had a misfire in one of the "banks?".. So I changed the plugs/wires with the recommended motorcraft(sp) parts. WHen I pulled the old plugs out.. some were gapped as high as .90 :nonono: - So, I properly gapped the new plugs, installed w/ new wires, and the CSVT was happy.

That was about a month ago - now, it seems like, if I drive for >45 constant mins, the WOT stops operating. If I let it sit for a while (cool down?) the WOT works just fine... and during short stop-go trips, no issues arise either...

Could this be my imrc thing being bad, going bad, etc?

IMRC is getting hot and malfunctioning. Replace with a junkyard unit.

I figured as much, thanks Todras...

Can I get the IMRC from different cars? (Contiques, cougs, etc)
Or does it have to be a CSVT type?

I assume this is where the relocation howot for the IMRC comes in handy for the heat of it all... maybe I will do that when I get to replacing it.

any car with an omrc box will work. however the taurus cable is short and there for it will not work.

you could try replacing the transistor that goes bad ...
