This forum was great informing me on the window regulator. I have never seen the cable driven window. It was all there but appears the nuts holding the motor to the actuator were missing and the cable had unspooled from the spool.
 
they have probably fallen inside the door itself. you will have to replace the window regulator nonetheless. this forum is loaded with valuable information regarding these cars.
