Wide Open Throttle

So the main issue is my computer is throwing me a code. It says my throttle position sensor is stuck wide open. I know that is not the issue and I've taken it to a couple Ford garages and had them reset it so the check engine light would go off. It works until I turn my car off then comes back on when I go to start it again. I have a SCT tune on the PCM for the 3L under the hood but I am lost why it is still showing this error code. Note: This is giving me no performance issues or problems with running it IS really damn annoying. Anyone have any ideas?

if the PCM thinks the TPS is wide open then either the sensor is bad and needs to be replaced or there is a wiring problem. my vote goes to a bad TPS.

since a tune, do you have an XCal2 or 3? im assuming you dont since you take it to the dealer to have the light reset.

It is tuned with a XCal 2. I talked to the guy at the Ford garage and told him I had a custom tune on the PCM and he said it wouldn't affect the OBD scanner. After I wrote this post I started to think it was the TPS so I am going to have the guys at Ford check it out for me.

do you have the XCal 2 or did it not come with the car? if you have it then you can reset the codes yourself as well as datalog the TPS sensor data.

Ya I have the XCal. I've tried resetting the codes multiple times and the CEL will go off but when I turn off the car and start it again it throws me the same code. I havent datalogged the TPS but I am guessing it will be all over the place if that is the issue.

TPS is SUPPOSED to be all over the place, that is what they do. If stuck wide open the volts will stay fixed not ranging. You can check output with a simple $10 voltmeter.
