where's this vacuum line go

where's this vacuum line go, well looking around my car to day (98 gl 2.0 at 4/97 build date) and fund a loose vacuum line. it was under the bat. on a canister next to the trans. listened for a hiss but did not here any. seemed to have air coming out of it. it is ribbed. has a hard bend on the loose end. just got car on Saturday so don't know the lay out of where things go yet (got it cheep as .... because it runs like death) thanks for any in put Dave
 
no to small for that that and the a/c works it is 1/4 in line ?? or so was woundering if it was just a vent tube for the trans but dont know
 
Is it the ATX? The CD4E has a vent tube that can be found near the battery...at least that's how it's routed in the duratec engine bay...of course the other end is actually connected to the black front cover panel on the trans.
