Where did you put your Aux-In?

Installing a Pioneer headunit sometime soon and it has a pigtail to connect a aux-in. Going to put an extension on it and run an MP3 adapter, but was wondering if anyone here has it already done, and where you routed it?

I am considering leaving the wires in the glove box, so I can plug in the IPOD and leave it there. But remember, this is an AUX-IN, not an IPOD adapter.

Mine goes to the glovebox right now. My previous setup with an ipod cable connected to it dropped out the holes under the unit.

I took an ipod fm transmittier and made it into an aux audio/charging base and mounted it under the vent trim above the radio, I just plop my ipod on it and it charges and play my audio through my HU. If I didn't have that I'd route it somewhere out next to the e-brake so my mp3/ipod could sit in the center console area below the e-brake.

I routed mine behind the cigarette lighter/cupholder and center console and came out thru the screwdriver-slot on the passenger side of the auto-shift so with the mp3 player hooked up it sits right next to the parking brake. Covered by my sunglasses, no one can tell it's there when I'm parked.

Mines in the glove box. You can buy those jacks for plugging headphones into at radio shack. Then you could surface mount just the plug and remove the cord and ipod/mp3 when not using it. Something like this:

right in my arm rest, easy access and lets people in the back/passenger choose music for me too

I ran the RCA's out the slot below the radio position. They just hang out a little bit above the cupholder area, but it's easy to connect it there, and you can't see it unless your head is in the footwell.

I should also add my aux input has a jump out plug so if someone with another device other than an ipod wants to connect to my car they can. I sometimes use pandora on my phone instead of my ipod. I put that through the holes below the radio, all you do is fish out the break when you need it, and connect it and put it back when you're done.

out of my trunk, under my back seat, hidden under the plastic under the doors, under my drivers seat, and it hangs out under my armrest. gotta love my aux in right to my alpine MRA-F350
