What is that little can?

its a capacitor. it stores energy when your amp runs low it socks it with power(simply put)

He is right, it saves your battery basically and the rest of your electricial system. When your sub hits nice and hard it just takes the power from that insted of drawing power from the rest of the car and dimming your lights... Oh and Audiobahn SUCKS by the way, Rockford Fosgate/JL all the way!

oohhh thats what the capacitor looks like lol...looks like im gonna be need one because my lights on my deck are flickering when the base hits pretty bad..

Somethin like this, Im not sure if all are created equal, or if a name brand really matters, but this one looks good http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-POWER-ACOUS...2QQihZ007QQcategoryZ75387QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem theres alot of others out there. or this http://cgi.ebay.com/ROCKFORD-FOSGAT...ryZ75387QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem they come in all shapes and sizes. Theres a rockford fosgate 1 farad out there on the bay for like 60 bucks i seen. but it has no LED voltmeter, witch i think is just plain cool to look at, And not only would I but a cap just cause it does the trick, the LED meter is cool to look at. and your trunk will kinda glow a lil bit. lol. good luck. It really does help IMO.

do the "big 3" first
believe me
replace the battery negative to chassis wire, positive to alternator, and chassis to motor ground.
make sure its at least the same gauge wire as you're running to your amplifier
cheaper than a capacitor and better too

how hard is it to replace those wires? cause my lights flicker and dim and ive considered doing it and looked under the hood and it looks as if it may be a B**** to do.

for contours/mystiques it might be hard because the alternator is "hidden" but its worth it

whats with people liking JL's? argh i hate those damn speakers!!!!!

yes audiobahn is on the cheap and flashy side of things
rockford fosgate has always been great
those alpines in the pic are nice, and that kicker amp is a quality product.

i'd take some eclipse's, solo-barics (the older round ones) or aura's over just about anything else though

Quit talkin smack out yer bootie hole dood. You don't have a clue do you? "might be hard" 2 post ago you were talking like you did change all your wires, "believe me" you said. Ya I'll believe you when you post something factual. Get a cap, thicker wires don't do crap.

Only thing good bout Eclipse is thier titanium subs, Only thing halfway good bout solo baric is the L7 squares, and JL dub 7's bang hard as hell. Aura......lol, sounds like a rich man's speaker to me. maybe you need 8 8"'s lol.

Eclipse has been making top notch head units for decades, although you probably never see them around cause all your friends buy their crap at wally world.

Kicker has been making some of the best speakers around (for sound AND build quality) for decades as well. I can remember their original solobarics and the ZR1000 amps.... they were THE BEST you could stick in your car when they came out. That says something about a companies quality.

Aura, they made the "bass shakers", they make military generators, oem speakers for tvs and crap, as well as components for high end studio speakers. I have eight 8's because they fit and I scored a hella good deal on the speakers. My brother had 2 10's in an eclipse with a infinity beta digital amp and they were louder (and cleaner) than anyone else around here with 2 12's or alot of people with 2 15's. maybe you should do some research before make a statement www.aurasound.com

JL's are a ghetto brand, even when I was in high school 10 years ago only the "wigger" kids had JL's. yes they sound ok but nothing fantastic. I go to the spring break nationals in Daytona Beach every years and see the demo vehicles for every major manufacturer. JL has nothing on alot of the other companies out there.

You really don't know what you're talking about with JL. They are not a ghetto brand. I have used JL Audio subs in my competition SQ vehicles since 1995. They even featured me in one of their print advertisements after I won an IASCA World Championship in 2001. Do you know where they came from? From top-line auto sound competitors back in the early 90's.

There was a time when the formula to success in the competition world included MBQuart speakers, PPI amps, and JL Audio subs. JL Audio is a great company with high quality product. Heck, the engineers that used to work at PPI when it was good, and Xtant before it was bought by Mitek, are now at JL doing their thing.

As for the demo vehicles... did you actually get in and LISTEN to it? Or did you just walk by to see the bling or hear the boom. JL doesn't build their vehicles to be seen or heard, but wow are they great to listen to. Listening is believing....

yes i have listened to countless vehicles at daytona, every year i go. like i said before, yes they sound good but they ARE ghetto. every punk ass white boy with his hat sideways wants some JLs, of because their cheap speaker looks the same as their better speakers - of course "they have the good ones".

Yes PPI made excellent stuff - i was standing there when alma gates set the record (at the time) with 64 10" PPI's in her bronco, before she went over to Kicker.

MB Quart produces some of the finest (if not best) speakers money can buy, so we agree there too.

Xtant was making some fine products as well, i was fond of their amps.

there are better subs available if you want clarity than JL's, and there are better subs for winning SPL and DB contests than JL's.

for quality, i'd take eclipses, infinitys, auras, or even memphis's (which are very nice AND boom like hell btw) over jl and for spl i would take kicker solo x's, or even some old school cerwin vega stroker subs (remember the adjustable cone position with the metal rod sticking through the middle?)over the jl's
