What's this mean?

E0 is the 195 HP, "first gen" SVT Contour. It is most easily spotted by the dig strips on the doors. They are thin and round, as compared to the later "E1" strips which are wider and flatter. They wheels were originally the rounder, "Cosworth Jr." wheels, as compared to the later "E1"'s nearly-flatfaced "Cobra Jr." wheels.

you have the ding guards backwards.

no he doesnt. he just worded it weird. the earlier ones (e0's) had ding guards that protruded from the door, while the later ones (e1's) were flat. by wider, he means taller.

sidenote, I have an e1, but it has the earlier style ding guards, so the ding guards are NOT a sure bet to tell of a car is e0 or e1. Most people go by the wheels.

Do the wheels in those pics also correctly show the difference in the wheels between the e0 and e1?

no. I am going to try and do a write-up for the Newbie classroom right now.

:edit I made a thread in the New Member Classroom with everything in it
