I might be asking a real dumb question here, but I recently noticed a tiny gray button on the underside of the gear shift on the Mystique (can't grab a photo because I loaned my camera to someone). We bought the car this year (owner's manual is God knows where) and it apparently is a small thing I overlooked.

So uh, what happens if I push da button?

its a transaxle control switch (tcs) takes the car out of overdrive

Same Here. I was driving my moms 98 villager, and its got the hand shift off the steering wheel. And there was this button on the end and I clicked it to see what it did. It was also the O/D shift, and I didn't know it. So im trying to pass this guy, and the cars like, o yeah we only have three gears so we won't downshift for you. So im prettymuch flooring it in third gear, not going anywhere. Morale of the story is leave it on.

Except you barely get any noticeable acceleration out of overdrive anyway so you were basically maxing it out regardless. :blackeye:

TCS - Traction Control System

2 diferrent things the traction control button would be located next to the defrost button if the vehicle has it.
the button he is asking about is the transaxle control switch
