Over the weekend….lots of filling strand fibreglass filler, body filler and sanding.
I’m repairing a giant crack in the rear bumper, fixing a dent that’s been in the quarter panel above the tail light for almost 20 years and some other dents throughout the quarter panels. I’ve cut out the rust on the rocker panels and made patch panels. Shaved the jack cover holes on my skirts and I think at the rate I’m going the entire car will probably get painted before it hits the road again this spring.

Pulled the Contour out of winter storage !! Looking forward to another fun driving season

I drove it like a bat out of hell on the way to work today!
After two years with an outdoor driveway nestled under pine trees, I am delighted to have moved back to a home with a garage. Had a tow since it had not been driven in a year, despite firing up fine. It will sit for a little while longer while I work on house projects, then I will decide to restore or sell.

My '95 2.0L blew a head gasket in March. Today I'm looking for a ZX2 header (yeah, some downpipe modification is needed); and in the next few days taking the cylinder head to a shop for a look-over and milling if it's warped.
Drove the SVT today. Put new hood struts on the SeVT the other week as one had failed. The big one was the new home for the contours.

My replacement production number decal arrived today. The car should be painted next weekend if my time schedule stays on track. It has to be painted, reassembled and back on the road by the second weekend of July to attend a weekend event.

Finished final assembly after paint and took it for its first rip around the block since January. Man it felt good to get behind the wheel. Literally went on a 5 minute drive and broke everyone’s neck that saw it. That was 6 months worth of body and paint work worth it! Big car show and cruise coming up in 2 weeks I need to be ready for.
