Tuning with a new exhaust?

I'm planning to put some headers and a Y pipe on my car (Weapon R) and I'm wondering if the ECM will just adjust for them and give me all potential power gains, or if I should put my car on a dyno.

And if a dyno run is necessary for full power, will I damage anything by not getting it tuned right away?

The car can make up for some of it but to get the most you will need a tuner. A dyno does nothing but a tuner will allow you get every hp out of it.

im getting a new exhaust soon too i might get a tune...let me know what you go with and how it turns out.

If you plan on going much further than exhaust any time soon, I would put off the tune and save yourself some $$. If you plan on running it the way it is for quite a while though, definately get it tuned.

MarcMiller, I dont know what you are putting on for exhaust, but if it is just a catback, you wont really gain any more with a tune than you would on an unmodified car.
