I am on the verge of completion of the 3L swap. Yes I know, it took forever, but it ain't easy being a baller on a budget. I am having trouble tracking down the reason for the very high idle about 2K. T.B. is good. No vaccum leaks. Changed out the Idle air control valve but that didn't do it. , T.P.S. is brand spanking new. I'm having a fun time tracking this down.(sarcasim). Please help.

P.S. Fans aren't coming on either, pluged in, relay and fuse good. Found a diode looking thing under a bunch of dirt. Cleaned it, might be it, just focusing on the high idle for now.

Thanks guys,
Jon

no there must be something else now. make sure all vacuum is sealed. it sounds like the same thing mine did when i had my vacuum leak. it would drive fine but if i revved hard then let it idle it could die. does it try to surge?

if it has a CAI then check your clamps, if not check where your maf bolts to your intake. LIM and UIM gaskets leaking, TB leaking even tho you said its not, loose intake, cracked vaccuum lines near firewall, rear tube on intake tube that you put the moose fix in. it comes off the right rear corner of the UIM and plums back into the air intake tube.mine was loose and mine would run perfect until i got on it and then it would die as soon as i pushed in the clutch.

just a few things ive ran into over the years
