Hey everybody I'm from Wixom Michigan and I am close to buying my first csvt! It has seviere motor knock so I dont want to risk driving it home and I was wondering if anyone had a tow dolly they are willing to rent or know of a place that rents them cheap other than Uhual?

careful with the uhaul tow dolleys, guy on here tried one of them and it wouldnt fit his car for some odd reason.

and that was an SVT as well that wouldn't fit... I haven't tried a uhaul tow dolley, so I can't explain why it wouldn't fit, but maybe the man himself will chime in here as to why it wouldn't work...

steeda and i put a mustang gt on a uhaul tow dolly once and we had to jack the car up and slide the dolly under the wheels. ground effects got in the way. guessing you will have the same problem with a svt tour

Well the car is lowered so maybe I should rethink the dolly idea. Does anyone have experience in towing a lowered car with dolly?

I'm the guy that couldn't get the car on the dolly.

It was the ground effects scrapping on the dolly. It wasn't even close to working. Perhaps jacking the car up would have worked. I didn't have the time or want to try that. I think the side effects would have scrapped even jacking it up though.

I would find someone with a truck and tow rope.

Also I looked around pretty hard. Uhaul is the only company that rents these.

was it just the front bumper or the the side skirts too?

I suppose you could remove the front bumper and side skirts to make it work.

When customs saw our tow setup they would definatly think I was some sort of drug dealer and probably proceed to take appart the truck trailer and car in the trailer... I'd rather just not get interigated again haha.

I definitely like this idea. Saw a couple guys employing exactly that technique in Missoula, Montana with a Ford Ranger and a 1984 Maserati Biturbo. The Maser was right in its element.
