they won't make you get to a higher top speed, but they will last alot longer because they are made for that speed.
 
When referencing speed ratings, specifically?

Now.. certain tires, even the same exact sizes, when made by different manufacturers will have different physical dimensions and weights.. thus a set of 225/45/17's from manufacturer A can weigh a completely different amount than one from company B.

THAT will affect performance..
