I've been searching around here and online and there seems to be no definite answer so I thought I'd ask you guys directly.

How long do timing chains on our cars last? I've read anything from do regular chains at like 100k miles to if you do regular maintenance (ie. oil changes) the chain should outlast the car.

timing belts should be changed around 100 k on these cars. the chains should last the life of the car. however older ones do start to make timing chain noises on start up because the tensioners leak down.

there have been very few timing chain issues. I wouldn't worry about it.

Are you confusing the chains with the belts? I've never heard of a service interval for timing chains.
