Why the Hockey Hall of Fame of course ;)
I noticed on my lovely Zetec that I can move the cable which connects the gas pedal to the throttle body about 1/2 an inch back and forth without actually opening the TB at all... Is this normal? If not, how do you go about tightening the slack?

Yes that is normal.

If you really dislike this..You can do two things.
#1. is for newbies.
#2 is for pro's.

1. Increase the height of the pedal inside the car under neath the dash by adding some plastic washers or zipties to reduce the length between the pedal cable and the crimp.
2 You can uncrimp the throttle cable under the hood...pull the wire to the desired location and recrimp the wire to the throttle body.
