Tie Rod Jamb Nut Size

I'm going to replace my tie rod ends this w/n. I noticed that my driver's side jamb nut was not re-installed when Tire Kingdom replaced that tie rod end years ago. Does anyone know the size of the nut so I can buy a new one (preferably stainless steel so it doesn't become one w/ the tie rod end itself...like the passenger side).

its an odd size, not anything you can find at a parts store or even a hardware store. depending on where you get the tie-rod ends they should come with a new jam nut but i would ask to verify that before you buy. if you cant find one locally or they dont come with the new tie-rods then i would call Bill Jenkins. im sure he can get you some.


also, if you have problems getting the jam nut loose, find my post in another thread about replacing the tie-rods. should be pretty easy to find with a quick search.

I purchased new tie rod ends from Tousley Ford, they didn't come w/ a new nut. I read your other post this morning, thanks for the info.

I ordered the tie rods from BJ and they initially didnt come with it. He took care of me and sent me some free of charge since I couldnt find them anywhere.... I would call Steve at tousley to find out...
