I have a 2001 Cougar with a Zetec, 5 speed and 78,000 miles. When I drive normally and shift between 2 and 3000 rpm the revs drop normally, but when I am accelerating hard and shifting between 4 and 6000 rpm the revs drop very slowly. It's very annoying!
The car drives perfectly otherwise and there are no CEL's. Any ideas about what could be causing this?
