I finally got one after 5 years and do not want to take it off, nor pay it. So, a buddy of mine has a mystique that I can borrow without tint, do they check your VIN? I checked the ticket and no where on the ticket is my VIN, just says color: brown. My car is not brown, so I was going to use his gold mystique.
Thanks,
Bill

I've heard of people doing this before, but I don't know if I'd really want to risk it without knowing for sure. I'd assume they're get pretty pissed if they realized it. I know some people just switch out the window glass?

Switch out the window glass, its real easy. PM scooba steve he has both fronts.

also for what its worth I got one in the winter and the cop didnt want to walk out of the station so he just signed off on it.

I believe any officer of the law is able to sign off on tickets... Seeing as how the officer that gave me a ticket was a raging bulldyke with a huge ****peen gave me the ticket and the officer that signed off was a laid back fat dude...

The lady inside came out to inspect my car and she did glance at the vin number. She was actualy awesome to deal with. Windows are easy to switch. I have all four door glass here. Come get it.

Just tear it off and i will retint it for cheap :)

Or jut pay the ticket......and keep the tint. You have a choice ya know.

A kid down the street from me has limo tint on his 300 and he gets tickets for it all the time. He just has his buddy who is a cop right it off and the ticket goes away.

yah just make friends with a cop so you and the cop can do something illegal, thats really smart! I would just take the tint off, and re tint with something really light so cops won't bother you.

Did you at least get to keep your tint? I think ill just strip it off and get it retinted in the spring along with the svt and maybe the wind screen on my bike.

i just stripped the tint, i don't really care, it's cheap enough to have redone that i don't give a damn, just the fact that they wrote it as non waivable and i have to pay that is bull:censored::censored::censored::censored:.

Now that it is winter, I am hoping I don't have to worry about it as much. I would figure most cops aren't going to get out of their car when it -30F outside to hand out a tint/front plate ticket.

I wasn't telling him to make friends with a cop, I was just commenting that's what my neighbor does. Switching out the glass to get the ticket waived is just about as illegal as just having a friend do it anyways...

I just got one yesterday too. First time driving the car since summer, first time with the tint, first time with the new transmission. Some douche cop lady pulled a u-turn in the massive blizzard, through traffic, at night, to get me for 'loud exhaust' and gave me a citation for the tint. I still haven't called to see what I have to do to take care of it.
