SVT Intake Question

Not sure if this is a troubleshooting question, but I figured I would put it here.

I recently bought a complete SVT intake setup for my 98 Contour SE. The one problem I am running into is the accordion tube between the throttle body and MAF sensor. The SVT one has 4 vacuum hose ports, while my stock SE one has only 3. The extra port is on the bottom, facing the front of the car. My question is, do all SVT tubes have this, or do I need to find one with only three? Also, what hooks up to this extra port? I did a search and none of the pictures I found got close enough for me to determine what it hooks to. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

4th port is for the IAT sensor which on a non-SVT is located on the side of the airbox. They are also all the same.

when I installed the SVT accordian tube on my SE I got a plug made up to plug the 4th port. I then cut the sensor into the side of the airbox just before the maf, making it similar to the SE intake and because I didn't have a SVT IAT sensor. However I am not positive that they are actually different but feel that they are. suppose I should check that out. Otherwise just put your sensor in the port and you should be good to go.

Thanks a ton guys... this really helps.

I'm going to try moving the IAT to the tube... at the very least, even if the sensors are indeed different between SVT and non-SVT, it should work since I'm still running a stock PCM.

the IAT and I'm sure a number of other sensors don't car what PCM they are attached to.

Just like when I first intalled the SVT UIM and TB I had to get and of course use a SVT tps. no issue on the stock PCM.

Well you have to be careful with that. Not saying it is the case here, but the voltage range for a any paticular sensor may correlate to a different range of TPS position, temperature, pressure level, etc then the sensor that was used on the original application. Just because it plugs in and seems to work correctly doesn't necessarily mean everything is fine and dandy.

For example sure you can plug in a 90mm Lighting MAF, but the tables in the PCM programming need to be updated accordingly before everything will truely work correctly.

Thanks for the heads-up BrApple and CSVT.... it looks as if I'll need to extend the wiring a little to make the SE IAT sensor reach the intake tube. Any idea what kind of wire I should use?
