I know it's short notice, but if anyone wants to come over to my place Saturday I am planning on replacing the trans pan on the van (assuming all the parts arrive from Bill J). Which if your unfamiliar why I'm doing that see here http://contour.org/ceg-vb/showthread.php?t=38487

Also Jrodsvt1 a new member is coming over and we are going to try to track down a vac leak on his car. Anyone is welcome, just let me know your coming. Probably be around 10ish or so in the morning when I start the work.

PM for address

I will try and make it over there. I feel pretty confident in finding vac leaks, now that Adam and I have taken my car apart so many times, lol.

yup I am down.

a little histroy of my symptom.

I have a flare in open loop operation. you start the car with the AC engaged aka the defrost and floor/defrost selections then the car revs to 2500 rpm drops down almost till stalling and sometimes will stall. Idle is rough.

Plugs are new, wires look ok, already installed brand new upper and lower intake gaskets, cleaned the lower manifold, cleaned the egr passage in the intake, cleaned the upper intake as well. still was not able to find a leak. I am think it could possibly be the PCV tubing, or a bad IAC.

when in closed loop it only idles rough. the flare is no longer there.

I'll be there as well, my issues: install a/f guage, belt tensioner/s, maybe sunroof?, and tweeter (sound).

Some of these issues i will work on as we help dave get the 'star put together again.

I can probably be there around 3:00-3:30 if you have beer. If not I have other plans....

PM me your address pwease Davie

Would anyone have any way to meter my air/fuel mixture or O2 sensors? I need to find out why I'm getting a code for running rich.

Yay, i will show up AFTER i get my beater's plates and registration done in Lombard, 10ish, hehe.

Oh, if anyone coming has an ABS scanner and can bring it, that would be greatly appreciate, I think that van's ABS module burnt a couple years ago, but haven't had it actually read, too cheap..

x2, my ABS light came on two days ago.

Dude... BURN the car and collect insurance already:laugh:

J/K. Damn that sucks. Hopefully your's is only a wheel sensor or something simple like that. All the research I've done on mine points to the module under the drivers door, $700:nonono:

Any progress on the rough running?

The car has over 150k miles on it, I didn't expect that to last. It doesn't really effect my drive to work and back. Though I did end up locking them up on 290 the other day, it was a little scary but I survived. I figure I drove without ABS for years, I can do it again. From what I read, it's probably just a wire issue.

Yeah, that's how we feel about the van also, however, those lights are getting annoying to look at, especially since they've been on since July 07, actually, I'm rather surprised they haven't burned out yet

It annoys me too and is a constant reminder of how imperfect this car is.

Look on the bright side, it's a good learning experience and give it a bit of time and you'll have a good car. Say, whatever happened to our photos?

Everyone else, just shut up.. I know how you people think.

Also, if anyone has any type of air/fuel and O2 sensor metering device, i would appreciate it :D
Can you pm me your address? I'm not for sure on this, but if someone has a scanner, i'll definitely try to head over there.
