Well ladies and gents... from concept to reality.

Obviously this isn't the final product (doesn't have powder coated brackets and a painted cross bar) but it's dang close and has been a long time coming. I've also broken ground on my traction bar setup and hope to have that moving along nicely very soon as well. So I guess this is it... my first product and the start of a my own little company. No final prices yet as I haven't received all of my production quotes back for parts, but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Once I have this, my traction bars, CF trunk, and CF hood I plan to setup a website and keep everything available to everyone in the future. I've been talking with my brother and between him and I we plan to start working on other platforms as well... starting with the cars we already own as well as a few of our friends and branching off from there. Now keep in mind this isn't my day job, but more of a fun hobby/weekend business venture so production will be left to a few weekday afternoons and weekends. Anyway that said, stay tuned for pictures of the final product and installation shots this coming weekend.

Those look really good Mike but how do they go into place, do you have to wedge them in or what? With the old Rstb (rawburt style) I had they had a adjuster like on a shower rod that allowed you to put it into place and tighten accordingly, how will this one work?

The brackets get bolted in just like the old ST200 Cougar RSTB design. Then the bracket has slots to allow for adjustment for the variation from car to car. Here is a picture of the bracketry unbolted. Keep in mind this is a prototype so the gobber weld is not what the production intent brackets will look like.

brackets are in the oven curing the mirror black powder coat... prepping for installation tomorrow.

Wow, that's pretty awesome. I'm poor as dirt, so I won't be able to buy a bar, but you've inspired me to try and make my own.

Test fit prototype number one and did a final install on my car. Everything went together fairly nicely. I've got a pretty straight forward installation procedure down, time to install would be approximately 20min. Will be sending out for another test fit and to put some miles on it before I commit to a GB and production. Prototype number two will be built tomorrow, which will have a few tweaks to the inner fender well bracket for additional clearance to the spring.

want! mike ill do a test fit and put the miles on for you... i only live down the road :)

I only live 4 miles from mike, im closer! Hahaha I test and pay for it.......when I finally get money. Hahaha

Have you got any worries about the bolt holes rusting out or will you just seal up the brackets with RTV?

Anytime you drill holes into your car to mount anything you should always clean up the burrs, primer it and paint it before assembling anything.
