Remote Trunk button on FOB

My key fob works, however to open the trunk I'm finding that I have to wave the damn thing around to open up the trunk.

Does anybody have any Ideas, I figure I'll change the batteries and see if that does the trick.

Try adjusting the antenna. It runs up the passenger side A-Pillar. Carefully pry off the trim to expose the antenna. Some times the antennas will slip down affecting range. Pull the antenna up higher (don't pull too hard or you might pull it out of the keyless entry box) and you should get better signal. Pair that with some fresh batteries and you should be much better.

When you try to open the trunk with the remote the dome light should come on. If it does the trunk solenoid (release) is bad. If it doesn’t light then the remote tx or rx is not working. It is likely the release solenoid, this is a common problem.

THe batteries and the inside of the FOB was really dirty, so I replaced the batts and cleaned all the sh** out, now it works fine.
