I need new shocks and springs and I am very torn between D2/Ksport and Bilstiens with vogtland springs. I need help going one way or the other. After it's all said and done it will cost about the same for both setups. It just seems that I am changing my mind every other week.

Thanks!

Well, you go with a shock/spring you are stuck with what you get.

Using a coilover, if you don't like the stance or the height you can change it.

That makes sense I just don't know which one to go with. Just trying to see what others think. Also yes I have searched and read reviews

My Billstiens are SUPER firm, unless you are into that sort of thing I would recommend against them. I don't really care for adjustable since I'll NEVER track the car, but I 100% regret not going with Spax.

I prefer a firm ride honestly. I enjoy the communtication that comes with a firm suspension. And that's where the back and forth is coming from....

One week coilevers sound like the way to go but then I think on it and bilstiens and vogtlands come to mind as well. I just really am split in half of which one to get.

Really the only answer is to get a second car and run both LOL.

Anyone else have any ideas? Also thanks for those that have contributed.

Do you want ride height adjustment or rebound/firmness adjustment? It sounds like what you really want are Konis and Vogtlands. That way you get the ride height you want with the Vogtlands and can dial in the exact feel you like. IMO coil overs are a ridiculous waste of money on a street car. How often do these coilover owners really adjust their ride height? My guess is that 90% never do!

Honestly though, if you like it firm and responsive and don't live in a minefield of potholes like here in Chicago then you'll be perfectly happy with the billstiens.

If you can get the ride height you want with struts and springs then coilovers might be overkill. I have coilovers due to the fact that I wanted more of a drop than most springs for our cars provide, but once I got the ride height dialed in they have not been adjusted since. Also if I had to DD my car I wouldn't have it quite as low as it is, winter and the MN roads proves to be a little challenging with a lowered car. I also have coilovers on my DD but it doesn't sit as low as the Contour and price was the deciding factor for that car, the coilovers were a great deal in that case. Both cars were adjusted upon install and haven't been changed since.

I have no regrets about running coils on either of my cars.

I've talked with one other that ran D2s up here for two years and he said it wasn't bad. So I think honestly I will just get the coilovers I want more than 1" drop honestly. Thanks guys I really appreciate the input.
