Progress on Mystique, tried my first "Mod"

Today the new headlights went in, they are so shiny:cool:. I have a new grille, which is the newer style (all chrome, teeth and frame), but the old one (with bad chrome), lent itself to a paint job on the frame:

It looks nice! Now just need hood and LF fender to complete the resurrection of my "totalled" Mystique:help:
 
Did you really tape off everywhere to paint the grille, rather than a few screws to remove it????????????:confused: :confused:
 
It looks that way, but no. The tape covers up cowl area, due to many parts exposed to rain (wiper motor, etc.) The grille needed careful masking, since the center was flat gray. So far 2 neighbors like it..
 
:shrug:The cowl area is the area behind the hood, with the bag over it. Plastic covers are removed to get at fender bolts.
 
Thanks for the compliments:cool: I got the headlights from TeamFord parts.com, Bill Jenkins. Worth talking to him. My stock bumper is OK, but an SVTique is an interesting idea:drool:
