Pre-98 Zetec with rear discs?

Searching through the junk yard yesterday, I came upon a pre-98 Zetec with rear disc brakes. Was this aftermarket, or did they sell them with discs in the back? Also, if I wanted to put those on mine (mine has drums), would it be a direct bolt on?

As far as I know, the factory never installed rear discs on a Zetec equipped Contour. Someone has converted it with factory rear disc parts from a car that was originally equipped.

It is a direct bolt on. There is a "how to" somewhere here in GEC. That car would not necessarily be a better donor than a factory equipped one.

you have to take the whole knuckel/hub assembly for it to be a direct bolt on. really easy to do though. disconnect the ebrake cables under the car, and remove about 5 bolts to drop the knuckle off the car. replace with the disc brake knuckle and your done.
