Well, the power steering leak is getting bad enough, I have to do something about it.
Years ago I remember reading about the problems associated with this fix, mainly relating to being unable to get the proper part. I re read the thread here:
and had a few question to make sure I understand correctly.
1) There is no way to get the nut off the tube and snap a new o-ring in ? Cutting is the only way ?
2) F5RZ-3A719-A is the correct part ?
Advance claims they have the compatible part: https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p...cHPXxYxpZ6416nRIdcQaAhv-EALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
3) This site (https://www.fordpartsgiant.com/parts/ford-tube-connecting_f5rz-3a719-a.html) claims this is replaced by F5RZ-3A719-F. Can anyone confirm ?
4) is this the correct o-ring ? https://www.fordpartsgiant.com/parts/ford-seal_-388898-s.html
Would it just be simpler to weld a tube from a new nut and make a swagelok fitting ? Why in the 9 Hells would Ford make something so onerous to replace ?
thanks,
Mad Dog

Leaking power steering fluid, please help
The hard line with the spinning nut that wraps around the motor mount will not seal properly. It is leaking where the hardline goes into the back of the nut and feels loose when I wiggle on it. The nut is TQ'd to ford spec into the PS pump with a plastic o-ring like it says and also with thread...
