Power Steering Hose Obsolete?

So, my power steering hose (2000 SE, reservoir to pump) broke from brittleness. I looked at all the parts stores and found nothing. I went to the dealership and they said it was obsolete with no known replacements. They gave me a drawing where the part I need is listed as "3691" and a part number "F5RZ-3691-A"

A search on the web turns up Varsity Ford Parts, and a bunch of yataYataFordPartsYataYata.com type places. I have little faith any of these places have it in stock. I even tried adding 99999 of the hoses to my shopping cart, just to see if they would give an insufficient stock warning, but they all seem to be willing to sell me 99999 of these hoses. :nonono:

Now that I look at this drawing it says "From 2000 to 2000". This almost makes me think the hose is different on other years. I would look at my 99, but it's in a storage unit, and not nearly as convenient as asking CEG at the moment  Can anyone confirm the hose is the same between model years? Maybe I can adapt the earlier type if it's readily available. I doubt this, because I have a PS pump from a pre-98 sitting on my work bench, and it has the same large elbow pipe on it.

It's a molded hose, and an odd size too, 18mm ID. The parts stores only carry up to 1/2" bulk hose, so I can't use that stuff.

The best I can find is industrial bulk hydraulic hose that would probably never bend they way I need it to.

Has anyone had luck with custom molded hoses?

Any recommendations?

Options:
1) Grab another @ a junkyard
2) Buy another from someone parting out their car here on CEG
3) Buy another from someone parting out their car on craigslist
4) Take your hose to an auto parts store & match it up with the ones they have there
5) Take your hose to a hardware store & match it up to the ones they have there

I'd suggest calling steve at tousley ford or contacting team ford parts in las vegas. I have ordered from both several times - good prices and reliable info. They will be able to tell you for sure if its the right part # and/or discontinued.

Thanks guys. I've gotten in contact with a shop that says they can probably work up a new one. I'll be bringing the old hose to them next week for a quote. I'll keep you posted.

Solo, I'll let you know if I need your spare. Thanks, again!

EDIT:
The the shop that said they could work up a new hose some how mistook "custom mold hose" for "cut a length of hose" :blackeye:

since I can't find 18mm hydraulic hose, I'll be trying to use some flexible 3/4" stuff. I'd like to find a source of new parts, rather than rely on the boneyard, or parts cars for this stuff.

I'll update with what I find.

EDIT 2:
I bough some 3/4" hydraulic hose, I have no idea what the brand/model is, but it works, It has a layer of steel braid that makes it fairly rigid, but its still flexible enough to work. Some beefy hose clamps were able to seal it up well enough.
