Can someone help me with what color which wire is? I have searched all over and need to figure this out ASAP. i have an orange and white wire

Each door is a different color. I'm not sure of the color codes off hand but I'm sure someone will chime in. Just don't splice or connect anything until you are certain which is which. You don't want to blow a fuse, or worse, a speaker.

The speaker wont instantly blow from reversed polarity unless you threw full power at it right away. And it won't blow a fuse from being backwards either.

Left Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): White/Black
Left Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): Brown/Yellow
Right Front Speaker Positive Wire (+): White/Red
Right Front Speaker Negative Wire (-): Brown/Yellow

Left Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): White/Purple
Left Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Brown/White
Right Rear Speaker Positive Wire (+): White/Purple
Right Rear Speaker Negative Wire (-): Brown/White

Also, you will DEFINITELY want to bypass the pile of •••• factory amp. How to do it is in the how-to at the top of this forum. I seriously cannot believe how much better my speakers sound with the factory amp bypassed. I'm running an older Pioneer headunit, DEH-6800MP but it was tits in my Cobra and has all the functions I want. Separate subwoofer controls was the main reason I bought it back in the day and I have never ever EVER had an issue with a Pioneer product. Dead reliable and this is also why I went with them for my speakers. Running four brand new Pioneer Premier 6x8s in all 4 doors. Bolted directly in.

As long as you do all 4 the same way, you can do whatever you want. Assign Orange as + and White as - as long as all 4 doors are the same.

Epic fail. I posted the correct layout 2 posts above yours...

Reading comprehension Fail. He has Orange and White. I don't see Orange and White in your list. Regardless, how is what I said wrong?

Orange and white is not listed, however I'm willing to bet that his oj/white is really red/white. What color is the other wire alongside the "orange" and white one? Regardless you don't want to just toss it together since there is still a set polarity. Wire them in backwards/haphazard if you really want. Or you could do it right.

The wiring diagram you listed is for the amp side. There are 8 wires behind the dash (with the colors that you listed) that at some point terminate at each door. From what I read, the OP stated that each door has 2 wires, one Orange, one White. OP: Correct me if I'm wrong.

Regardless, the only thing that will change is phase, and as long as all 4 speakers are wired the same way, then even phase won't matter. It's not like DC where a reverse bias actually matters. An AC signal is symmetrical and a speaker doesn't care about polarity. The markings are there for the installer to be consistent.

If you want to test it, get a multimeter, set it to resistance. Then open a door panel, let's say passenger side front door. Put one lead on the White/Red wire behind the dash. Then probe the orange wire in the door panel. Does it report ~0 Ohms? Then that's your Speaker+. It doesn't? Try the white wire. Does that report ~0 Ohms? Then that's your speaker+.

Thanks for the information. I wired my new Infinity speakers as per the layout from Scotty and I hope he does know. They are working fine and sound good. I did find the colors that were listed and it makes sense that the brown is consistently negative. Thanks
