P1744 code

My '98 Contour SE V6 had a P0401 and I fixed that last week as well as my "moosing" problem. Eight days later, The CEL pops up a P1744 code (torque converter clutch). Everything seems fine other then a bad vibration that comes and goes while accelerating.

I'm guessing I need to take it into the tranny shop but wanted to see what info I could get here first as I'm sure someone has experienced this. I appreciate any help with this issue.

Try changing the tranny fluid first.

Go specifically to the TRANSAXLE forum and SEARCH for P1744. There is an extensive thread there regarding this DTC. Also, visit the old forums at http://www.contour.org/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php and reSEARCH previous postings about this DTC.

Save the tranny fluid, it won't make a difference.

Thanks you both for the help.

I searched the transaxle forum and it puzzles me why I don't have any of the symptoms everyone else getting this code seems to have had.
