the mast on mine was broke when i bought the car. im cheap so i snagged a standard pre98 one from the JY for ~$1

yes and yes its a 99 bought new in january 00 and after 199,000 miles evrything is still original except clutch/tires/brake pads etc...

Just curious....Since my car is 10 years old and other than brakes, tires, shifter cable replaced, just wondering ....Not bad for a 10 year old car....

Mine works fine. The mast has been replaced once due to a stripped whip gear.

A 98.5 SE (non-Sport) is pretty much equal to an earlier LX so it makes sense that it doesn't have it.
The GL was dropped as the base model for 98.5 and the LX took it's place.
LX->SE->SE Sport->SVT
