my amps and sub take up too much room to mount all 3 on the same side of the box, so what your opinion.
Keep in mind, I dont really want to drive around with my seats folded down. My question is more about SQ than appearance.

Jesus you needed three threads to get it right?

Thanks for deleting them, its messed up compared to how you used to make them, now you have to click submit thread so you can enter the poll, once I realized that I went back to change the wording of the post because I realized you actually enter it in the poll itself. apparrently both times I did that it decided to make a post out of it :help:? Oh well.

c'mon people, the saw blade starts turning tomorrow morning!! 2 votes to 1 is hardly what I would call a good turnout.

you really need to face em at the trunk. pointing them forward sounds like mud.
totally untrue..

i have 2 infinity reference 1230s pointed into the cabin, inverted.. sealed off from the trunk. the sound quality difference is amazing, not to mention the trunk has no rattles.

For sound quality id seal them off from the trunk and run no backseat, but since you dont want to do that i would point them toward the rear deck, or the rear of the trunk. Make sure to deaden it, mine rattled like no tomarrow even with the whole trunk dynamatted.

if your wanting a "normal" box face them towards the rear for a better sound. bass is reflective. It also kind boils down to the su your using and if your running sealed or ported enclosure etc.....

and it begins again:blackeye:

Oh okay....so whats your opinion then? You dont have one EVER. Steeda...lemme hear your opinion. You just diss the dude for making 3 posts lol. like always ha.

I have tried facing subs ALL different kinds of ways in this car, 1 sub, 2 subs, seats down, seats up, trunk cracked, trunk closed, forward, backward, side, pushed close to the side, pushed a wee bit away from the side, up, downfiring, corner aim even...pointing em at the back just bangs ALOT harder. When you point em forward, it just doesnt cut it at all. Nothing really does besides....pointing em at the trunk, and rolling with your seats down. THATS the best bang. But hey man, its your ride, do whacha want.

Facing the trunk, with seats down hits the hardest no question. And caps are cool. lol.

wait, you just said totally untrue, then you tell him to point em at the trunk?? The rattles I got was from the 3rd brake light, (stuffed paper towels under it) or the reflector rattling. (tightened it)

Pointing them up at the rear deck, doesnt really give enough space for that bass-reflex to work and all that.

did you read any of his post? he said he doesnt want to have his back seats folded down, which is why i said to point them back.

besides.. hes not gong for 'hitting the hardest', some people actually like to hear music, not straight bass.

the 3rd brake light was just the start of the rattles, the whole trunk rattled, rear bumper, rear deck, plate everything, the whole thing was dynamatted, too.

Well, you dont HAVE to fold the seats down!

That just makes it a lil louder if ya want an instant DB boost....

Ya I like to hear what theyre actually singin' about too....lol....but its usually about chrome and diamond grillzzzz.....lawlcoptre.

I don't have to state my opinion. I just have to point out the fact that you are wrong.

I know many people with subs that fire forward that their system sounds freaking AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! You need to stop with the BS info!

Ya okay...

Ya there are tons of folks who do it that way....but aiming it at the rear boosts the bass.

Say Im wrong by saying aiming subs at the rear doesnt make it louder, and gives you the best bass. Cmon, say it. Im not wrong dude....youre just hating as usual. Even the masses say point em at the trunk. Why would you want to face em towards the front.....so you can say "oooo, thats pretty" or "If I put my golf clubs in the back, I might puncture my sub oh noes."

"why would you want to face them forward?" SOUND QUALITY!

facing them toward the rear kills sound quality if you ask me, i had my infinitys like that before and it was nothing but boom, thats IT. I'm NOT an SPL guy I cant stand people who have stereos that have nothing but insane bass and they call them self and audio person.

sit in a car with a front facing setup with some good quality SQ subs and a decent amp, i garentee you wont repeat what you said to begin with

most masses say point them toward the rear because 90% of people are SPL, how loud can i get it.. thats all

We apologize for liking quality, and disliking you.

Well that explains your opinion and choice of words in alot of your posts... never will you hear an audio guru say anything along the lines of "bangs" when refering to a system.

Facing the trunk, with seats down hits the hardest no question.
read up on SoundQsvt's ride, you may learn some shocking new info..

As for Steeda making fun of me for my misposting... we've both been here for quite a few years and tend to rip on each other in a joking sense.

And to put this to rest I chose to face the sub to the trunk. The box is basicly done, photos will be posted soon, just waiting for the box carpet along with the 7" mids to come from partsexpress.com. The reason I hand the opinion poll was because I've kept my systems very moddest in the SVT with rear deck sub setups. I only built big stereo systems into one car which was a Ford Probe hatch back before the SVT, so I never had to deal with the trunk muffling everything and it worked awesome for competitions. When I got rid of the probe I became a SQ guy.

Well cool man. Its not like you cant flip it around one day if you get sick of it. You originally asked..."which way should I aim em?" and I answered you.

The thing is, IM THE FIRST ONE to actually say "hey dude, point em at the rear" and everyone jumps my throat like keyboard commando's and stuff. Like they really have have an "opinion".

Let me tell you, You can't really get SQ out of subs. Give me a break. It friggin goes BOOM. THATS IT. SQ comes from the rest of your speaker choices. Bass should be used as a filler. IMO. Unless youre trying to squeeze by with 1 or 2 10's in your rear deck for more fill, THAT'S the true meaning of SQ. Not 2 12" in the trunk banging away to country music or whatever, thats SPL factor talking. But whats wrong with having a lil extra available to really get your money's worth. You don't always have to roll with the gain max'd. Im not trying to rattle your dishes in the kitchen when I roll by your house. Or wake you up at 1AM on a wednesday night. Even tho Id like to do that to STeeda. (although being able to set off car alarms is nice)
