i posted a little bit ago about my check engine light being on and my piston misfiring, well i took it in and there was oil in by the spark plugs and i thought this is wat was causing it, i guess the guy who did the timing belt didnt seal something or whatever, so they fixed it, car worked great for two weeks, now the check engine lights back on and it seems as if its mis firing again, any ideas why the oil is in the spark plugS?

Drive to Autozone or Advance and get the codes read (free service). Then post the exact codes.

Oil in the spark plug wells is from a leaking valve cover gasket. Once the plug wires are wet long enough to allow a misfire, they usually need to be replaced due to carbon tracking.

I'm guessing that you may need a valve cover gasket (properly installed), new plug wire, and new plugs.

Get the codes read to see if there is something else going on before jumping to conclusions though.

The misfiring could also very easily be caused by junky spark plugs. I wouldnt trust anything in a contour except for Autolite or Motorcraft plugs.

When I used Champions, the porcelin actually cracked on one of the plugs, which caused a wicked misfire.

i got a tune up, all new pkugs and all, the code before was p303 whichwas a misfire in the third piston, im sure its that again, but i had tune up, new plugs (double platinum) and all, im taking back to shop tommorow and *****in at them till they fix it or ill call the paper, yea woo.

took it to the shop, dude apologized and ordered a head gasket cover or some ****, so we will see if it works
