Last week while on my honeymoon, the SVTC started making some noise. From the sound of it I thought it was the waterpump/idler pulley. The noise started as a light squeak and transformed into a bearing grinding sound. Well, x-mas afternoon we made it back from our honeymoon and arrived at my Moms house. After we finished dinner and opened presents I went to move my car out of the driveway and thats when it got bad. I started coasting backwards down the driveway. I reached the end where my mom was and stopped. I said to her "this is the noise I was telling you about". I pushed in the clutch so I could put it in reverse and as the pedal became fully depressed and I was about to put it into gear, I heard a really quiet "pop" and I lost all clutch pressure. Also, my noise went away. I got out and saw a steady drip of clutch/brake fluid from underneath.

What am I looking at hear? Slave cylinder?

Not being able to see what you are seeing, you'll have to get under the hood and see for yourself whether or not it's the slave or just a loose connection somewhere. Is there any fluid in the reservoir? As far as the noise, you didn't specifiy whether it was with the clutch pedal depressed or not. It may be the throwout bearing if you heard the noise with the pedal depressed.

According to All-Data the slave is located in the bell housing and our vehicles use a hydro-throwout system, correct? So I couldn't see it unless I dig INTO the engine? There is very little fluid left in the Master, and it made the noise mainly at idle no matter if the clutch was in or out.

Would a full clutch kit (such as the one BAT offers) include the necessary pieces? I am unfamiliar with our kind of slave/clutch system

yes go to teamfordparts.com and you can get a SVT clutch kit for $300 which includes a clutch disk, pressure plate and throwout bearing/slave

Yup!

Exact thing happened when mine went but I was just attempting to bleed any air out of the system.

The nice (too small to be real useful) view port above the slave cyclinder lets you look at the slave but you cant R&R through there.

You'll have to drop the sub frame, pull tranny to get er done.

Was a $1200 or so job for a $60 part. I started to dig into it but with my brother in Kuwait at the time, it was too big a job for me alone.
Good luck.
