I will be doing a CAI with some other mods and this is my idea:
BAT intake pipe + MAF adapter + heat shield like this:
http://jlttruecoldair.com/zencart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=6&products_id=87
I think this shield would look clean and its a good price.
I have used JLT on my Cobras and my brother's car and Jay Tucker the owner is a great guy. If anyone is local I'm sure he'd be willing to put a package together for us.
Anyway, I need some info before I email him:
1) factory meter size (70mm right?) 2) ideal adapter size 3) measure from meter to fender using a BAT pipe to get biggest filter possible
I was going to do this on my own and still will if nobody is interested, but we might be able to get a nice package together. Look at the JLT site, plenty of good products focused on Fords so he may even be able to do an alternative intake pipe as well.
Anyway, any thought appreciated.

Well, basically like all CAIs right?
I just found that JLT heat sheild that looks like it would be a good fit.
I prefer that plastic design to the aluminum one you make. I think yours is very nice and its great people make things like that for CEG, just my preference.
Like I mentioned, JLT is a very good to Ford enthusiats and I was hoping to maybe even get a full TB-filter CAI from them if they could do a painted PVC intake pipe like in their other kits.
It would be another option and a good one from the offerings I've seen.

i had that custom cougars/gmk setup and bill(pre98) still has it...theres other ways of makinga true cai. i have one from a 93-97 pgt on my svt
this is the setup i have(ebay pic) i had to add two holes for the iac and the rear vc vent..but thats easy.

Yeah...so like Pud said.... ??

Everything is already out there, the only tricky part is going to be getting Pud to make a heatshield for you.

Except he has the Duratec...SVT to be exact. Might as well just purchase a Pud heat shield setup bimini...Don't waste your money on JLT.
Uhh, the JLT sheild is cheaper.

Some of you guys seem to post without reading or even looking at the link or that site.
I guess, I should clarify....I will be doing a short ram style intake, not true CAI. Too much work for not enough gain and I like the look of the clean short ram. Also see my post regarding Pud's sheild--nice but not exactly what I want.
Back to my point with clarification, what are your thoughts on the JLT sheild? Is anyone interested in a TB-filter kit from JLT if they would work with us.
Please READ posts before responding and LOOK at the JLT site.
My preference would be one of their factory painted pipes, a heat sheild like the one posted with possible some tweaks for a CSVT, and a big S&B filter.
Teir kits had the highest HP with my old Cobras and their quality, price, customer service is great.
