I wanted to make this thread quick and easy. I just want to hear if i did alright on my 2000 svt purchase..
Car: 2000 Contour Svt
Milage: Just over 58k
Paint: minor scratches and 1 small hardly, hardly noticable ding. Looks GREAT!
Good: Car came with all orginal paperwork! Even svt brochure which, I think is cool. Svt cetification with manufacture number, owners manual, and even the orginal window tag with the price and options from ford! Interior is in awsome shape! Floor mats hardly look used!! Very quick and has no grind in third gear when i really get on it! So, thats good.
Bad: Rust under drivers side rear door, under the fuel door (in between bumper and rear corner panel hard to see), some surface rust on the inner lip of the trunk lid, and a little underbody in only one area (kind of weird) near the passenger side muffler almost under the back seat. Its this rod that looks like it connects to the rear suspension something have no idea what it would be called sorry! And, right above this rod ford cut looks like two circles out of the frame which, its also mildly rusting around the circle cut in the frame. All of the rust spots are very mild. Surface rust. They can be fixed but its just that it will take some time to fix it.
Price: I ended up paying just under 7900 with tax and new title. The owner owned it over a year and only put about 1500 miles on the svt. I new the owner slightly (next door neighbors brother) and he has kids and is a truck driver and just never had time to drive it. He payed 8000 for the car. He bought it off of some private owner in oregon, ohio. My car came from Mathues ford Oregon Ohio.
